The Left are desperate. They’re hoping and praying that President Trump’s agenda collapses.
And this top Democrat strategist makes an absurd prediction about the Trump admin.
Democratic strategist James Carville has made a bold and startling prediction, declaring that the Trump administration is in the “midst of a collapse” and will fall apart within the next four to six weeks.
Speaking on Friday, Carville urged fellow Democrats to adopt a strategy of quiet observation, advising them to let the Republican Party implode under the weight of its own internal struggles as President Trump pushes forward with his sweeping overhaul of the federal government.
“What I have said very publicly is that Democrats need to play possum. This whole thing is collapsing,” Carville told Mediaite founder Dan Abrams.
Carville’s voice carries weight in political circles, given his role as the chief strategist behind Bill Clinton’s victorious 1992 presidential campaign, which brought the Democratic Party back to the White House after more than a decade of Republican control.
His prediction comes despite Trump’s recent success in becoming the first Republican in 20 years to win the popular vote in a presidential election, securing gains in over 90% of U.S. counties. Still, Carville remains steadfast in his assertion that the Trump administration is on the brink of disaster.
Carville, who just months ago confidently stated he was “certain Kamala Harris will win,” has long been vocal about his political forecasts. He even authored a book in 2009 predicting that Democrats would dominate American politics for the next 40 years. However, he hasn’t shied away from criticizing his own party, particularly radical Leftists.
“These people were just useless,” Carville said, referring to certain Leftist activist groups during the 2024 election cycle. “They’re actually worse than useless, they’re detrimental. And they never, ever learn to shut up.”
According to Carville, the Trump administration is not only crumbling from within but also losing public support at an alarming rate. Citing recent polling data, he argued that Trump’s approval ratings have been in free fall, and in just weeks, the Republican stronghold in Congress could be severely weakened.
This prediction aligns with a pattern seen in past off-election years, such as 2017 and 2010, when grassroots protests and mounting public dissent signaled a shift in power, ultimately helping the minority party reclaim the House of Representatives during midterm elections.
Trump has charged into his second term with a flurry of executive actions. He has appointed Elon Musk, the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, to spearhead efforts aimed at slashing bureaucracy and reforming federal agencies — moves that have drawn sharp backlash from government workers and their unions while being hailed by many conservatives.
Carville also pointed to the challenges faced by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), suggesting that uniting Republicans behind Trump’s key legislative agenda will be an uphill battle. With only a narrow majority in the House, the GOP is finding it increasingly difficult to push forward with its plans.”It’s going to be easy pickings here in six weeks,” Carville said, offering a strategic message to Democrats. “Just lay back. We’re in the middle of a collapse. It’s over.”
Meanwhile, Democratic leadership in Congress has been striving to maintain focus on working-class issues.
However, their measured approach has drawn criticism from Leftist factions, who accuse party leaders of being too weak in trying to stop Trump’s aggressive policy agenda.
Further complicating matters, progressives have struggled to reignite the large-scale protests that once defined the anti-Trump resistance during his first term.
This diminished activism has sparked concerns that the Democratic base is grappling with hopelessness.
But their only hope now is that James Carville’s prediction will ring true in a just a few weeks.
However, based off his prediction of the 2024 election, as well as his other ridiculous and inaccurate predictions, the Left may still be in a state of anguish as the Trump administration keeps chugging along several weeks from now.
