The Left likes to hide their true feelings. But once they are in power, that all changes.
And now a top Democrat took off the mask and threatened Republicans with imminent violence.
Virginia Democrats Shift Tone After Election Wins
Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore Louise Lucas posted on social media hours after Democratic victories, stating the issue with state Sen. Jay Jones’s earlier comments was not the content but their public exposure.
“Virginia is for lovers, not snitches,” she posted, alongside an AI-generated video depicting Jones kicking opponent Jason Miyares, portrayed as a dog.
The “snitch” reference pointed to Republican Delegate Carrie Coyner, who received Jones’s text messages and authenticated them for an October 4 National Review report. Jones had expressed a desire to shoot then-House Speaker Todd Gilbert and see his children die.
Post-Election Comments and Redistricting Push
House Speaker Don Scott, a Democrat and convicted drug offender, accused Coyner of “betrayal” during the campaign. Lucas operates a licensed marijuana dispensary. The “snitches” phrase, reposted by Sen. Lashrecse Aird, mirrors the expression “snitches get stitches.”
Governor-elect Abigail Spanberger said during a debate that Republicans withheld the messages for years, preventing earlier public awareness. Jones won his race with 53% of the vote.
Lucas initially expressed relief that no one was injured when Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Sears’s campaign bus caught fire on October 30.
After the election, she shared an edited image of herself beside the vehicle and reposted a comment stating she had “planted that foot in [Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s] ass and ended his career.”
Lucas announced plans to redraw congressional districts, noting Republicans received 43%, 45%, and 47% in statewide races but hold only one U.S. House seat.
Legislative Gains and Policy Outlook
Democrats expanded their House of Delegates majority from 51 to 64 seats, nearing a veto-proof supermajority.
They advanced a constitutional amendment to end nonpartisan redistricting, counting only Election Day results despite a 45-day early voting period that began before the Jones story broke.
Outgoing Attorney General Jason Miyares issued an opinion declaring the timing illegal. Lucas responded, “Your opinions are sh–. They’re f–king s–t.”
Delegate Elizabeth Guzman, who defeated Republican incumbent Ian Lovejoy 55%-45%, previously introduced bills in 2020 and 2022 to classify parental refusal to affirm a child’s gender identity as potential child abuse, punishable by felony or misdemeanor charges and Child Protective Services involvement. Republicans controlled the House when the measures failed.
