CNN obviously has a Leftist bias. Yet they rarely get called out for it on air.
But Trump Jr. ripped this CNN host to shreds in a move no one saw coming.
Donald Trump Jr. launched a scathing attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, accusing the media network of playing a role in the threats against his father, former President Donald Trump. He claimed that the left-wing media has “radicalized the people that are trying to k*ll my father.”
In a heated exchange on air following the recent vice presidential debate, the 46-year-old Trump Jr. criticized CNN’s handling of the divisive political climate leading up to the November election, stating that the media has “created so much of that environment.”
He highlighted the dangers his father has faced, referencing two recent attempts on Donald Trump’s life. “I’ve had to have that conversation with my five young children, twice in the last two months about someone trying to shoot their grandfather,” he shared emotionally.
Donald Trump, now 78, narrowly avoided being shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, and was again targeted last month at his Palm Beach golf course.
“You know that didn’t just magically happen,” Trump Jr. said, asserting that the media played a role in creating the hostile environment.
“That’s not him, that’s a media-created fake Russia scenario. They ran with it for years. Even when it was disproven, they still ran with it. You know, that environment wasn’t just created by Donald Trump.”
Collins, however, quickly jumped in to defend the media’s role, stating, “Okay, but, but can I say, you can’t blame — and no one wants — everyone wants your dad to be safe.”
She continued, “Everyone wants your dad to be safe. No one wants the threats against his life to happen. But you can’t blame the media for those threats. There’s been no evidence.”
Unconvinced, Trump Jr. pushed back, arguing, “When someone calls — and allows people to have a platform to call someone literally Hitler every day for nine years, it creates it, whether you want to believe it or not. That’s a fact.”
The interview followed Collins’ commentary on the vice presidential debate between Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) and Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, which she described as “very civil.” She noted how both candidates acknowledged areas of agreement and gave each other the benefit of the doubt.
When asked if he wished his father would engage in more respectful debates, Trump Jr. responded that he would “love to see that across the board.”
Though critics noted that Walz appeared nervous during the debate, there were moments of mutual respect between him and Vance.
In one poignant exchange, when Walz mentioned that his teenage son had witnessed a shooting at a community center, Vance expressed sympathy, saying, “I’m sorry about that. Christ have mercy. It is awful.”
Walz also pointed out a rare moment of agreement between them on gun control, acknowledging that both men were united in their desire to end the epidemic of school shootings. “I 100% believe that Senator Vance hates it,” Walz said.
Perhaps CNN and the rest of the mainstream media can learn a thing or two from the VP debate about civility during political discourse.
