Democrat Lawmaker Attacks White House Press Secretary, Exposing Hypocrisy in the Left’s Moral Posturing
A first-term House Democrat is taking aim at White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, launching a personal attack after she clarified a White House memo regarding a federal funding order issued by President Donald Trump.
Representative Dave Min, D-Calif., posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Wednesday, calling Leavitt a “Fake Christian” and comparing the Trump administration to the Biblical Golden Calf.
Min’s outburst followed the White House’s decision to rescind an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) memo that had previously frozen most federal grants and assistance.
A federal judge blocked the order on Tuesday, prompting Leavitt to explain that only the memo was rescinded—not Trump’s broader executive orders that went after diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) spending.
“This is NOT a rescission of the federal funding freeze. It is simply a rescission of the OMB memo. Why? To end any confusion created by the court’s injunction,” Leavitt wrote on X. “The President’s EOs on federal funding remain in full force and effect, and will be rigorously implemented.”
Min seized on this clarification, directing his criticism squarely at Leavitt. He also took issue with her earlier remarks at a White House press briefing, where she highlighted a taxpayer-funded program that was set to send millions of dollars’ worth of contraceptives to Gaza.
“DOGE and OMB also found that there was about to be 50 million taxpayer dollars that went out the door to fund c*ndoms in Gaza. That is a preposterous waste of taxpayer dollars,” Leavitt had stated.
Min responded with derision, mocking Leavitt’s public display of faith. She made those comments “while wearing a giant cross to let everyone know how pious and moral she is, even as she is so comfortable stating a bald-faced lie to hundreds of millions of people,” he said.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Min further accused the Trump administration of using religion as a tool for political gain, claiming that while they lie through their teeth, they are also responsible for “allowing children to go to bed hungry, depriving veterans of their earned healthcare, and slashing funding for the police and first responders.”
The Left’s Hypocrisy on Moral Superiority
Min’s remarks reflect a pattern among Democrats, who frequently position themselves as the arbiters of morality while conveniently ignoring their own moral shortcomings. Liberals are often quick to accuse Republicans of cruelty, dishonesty, or corruption, yet they rarely hold themselves to the same standards when faced with scandals or ethical lapses within their own ranks.
