Omar and her “Squad” comrades are an embarrassment to America. Nothing they do is to help this country.
But now Ilhan Omar humiliated herself with one picture she can never erase.
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) was chastised for sharing a social media post with photographs of dead children in Syria, who she said perished in Gaza during conflict between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas.
According to a screenshot put on X by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee on Saturday, Omar retweeted a message that claimed “CHILD GENOCIDE IN PALESTINE” and “614 Palestinian children murdered by the Israeli [IDF] forces.”
A community note, however, said that the image was from a 2013 sarin gas assault in Ghouta, Syria, and not from the Israel-Hamas war, which began on Oct. 7 when Hamas, designated a terrorist group by the US, attacked Israel.
The AIPAC post featured one from Omar’s fellow “Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), in which Ocasio-Cortez criticized the “level of misinformation” on social media. Omar has subsequently removed the photo from his Instagram feed.

“If you see a claim, photo, or video that triggers a strong emotional reaction, take a moment to pause and check for veracity/confirmation from multiple sources,” Ocasio-Cortez urged in a statement.
AIPAC attacked Ocasio-Cortez for reposting Omar, accusing the “Squad” of anti-Israel bias.
“[Omar] is spreading dangerous misinformation, blaming Israel for killing kids who were killed by Assad in Syria 10 years ago,” AIPAC said in a statement.
“Once again, the Squad doesn’t let the facts get in the way of their anti-Israel narrative.”
This criticism comes after a number of progressive Democrats urged for a larger return to order and peace on both sides, as well as an end to Israel’s “apartheid” regime.
Omar said in a post to X two days following the Hamas attacks that the U.S. should “use its diplomatic might to push for peace” and end the “continuing unconditional weapons sale and military aid to Israel.”
Since 2012, when she remarked on then-Twitter that “Israel has hypnotized the world,” Omar has been chastised for posts deemed discriminatory and antisemitic.
She wrote in 2018: “Drawing attention to the apartheid Israeli regime is far from hating Jews.”
She later stated that she had no idea “hypnotized” was a cliche and that it was “a very enlightening part of this journey.”
The Palestinian-Israeli issue has traditionally divided public opinion, with Democrats split on whose side they support.
According to a March Gallup poll, Democrats now sympathize “more with Palestinians than with Israelis, 49% versus 38%.”
Since boycotting the Israeli president’s joint address to Congress earlier this year, some Democrats have faced criticism and reaction for their Palestinian support.
