Biden has always been able to count on the mainstream media to cover for him. But not this time.
As the Leftist media dropped the hammer on Joe Biden in a way that left him speechless.
Former President Donald Trump is more than ready to debate President Joe Biden this fall.
Back in March, Trump said that he’d be willing to debate the president anywhere, anytime, and anyplace.
He believes that he can take the president to the woodshed if the two candidates can get together and argue policy and ideologies.
And while that’s likely true, Biden is currently not committed to debating Trump.
But almost 75% of voters feel as though that would show “weakness” if he didn’t debate the former president, according to a Fox News poll.
Jason Miller, an adviser for the Donald Trump campaign, believes that “Biden won’t get away with the basement routine this time” and that it’s imperative that he debates Trump, according to what he told the New York Times earlier this week.
The Times was also able to get their hands on a draft of an open letter that called for Biden to debate Trump before the election. The letter was endorsed by mainstream media outlets such as ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and Fox News.
“General election debates have a rich tradition in our American democracy, having played a vital role in every presidential election of the past 50 years dating to 1976,” the letter says.
“In each of those elections, tens of millions have tuned in to watch the candidates debating side by side, in a competition of ideas, for the votes of American citizens. If there is one thing Americans can agree on, during this polarized time, it is that the stakes of this election are exceptionally high.”
“There is simply no substitute for the candidates debating with each other, and before the American people, their visions for the future of the nation.”
Despite no commitment from Biden to debate this year, the Commission on Presidential Debates has already listed possible venues and dates for the debates this fall. They’ve also listed out requirements as well.
“Though it is too early for invitations to be extended to any candidates, it’s not too early for candidates who expect to meet the eligibility criteria to publicly state their support for, and their intention to participate in, the commission’s debates planned for this fall,” the letter continues.
Democrats and the Biden campaign will likely point to how Donald Trump skipped the Republican primary debates earlier this election cycle as a reason why Biden shouldn’t have to pledge his attendance at the presidential debates this year.
However, Trump was way ahead in the polls at that time and there was nothing left for him to say or prove to the GOP base as to why he should be the party’s official nominee.
Now he’s trying to win over the votes to win a second term in the White House and wants to prove that he’s clearly the better choice over Joe Biden.
But he won’t get that chance unless Biden gets the courage to debate him.
And if the president really is the better choice over Donald Trump like he and his campaign say he is, then the debates are the perfect time to prove it. Even the Leftist media thinks it’s best that he does so!
But let’s face it, Democrats and the White House are probably too nervous to try and get Joe Biden to debate since he won’t have a script to adhere to.
That means there will be plenty of opportunities for gaffes and embarrassing mistakes for Biden to make and the thought of that has the Biden campaign terrified.
