Donald Trump is losing patience with the Russian leader. He’s not going to stand for Putin’s actions much longer.
And President Trump went scorched earth on Putin with this fiery message.
Trump Condemns Putin’s Escalating Attacks on Ukraine Amid Fragile Peace Efforts
In a sharp rebuke, President Donald Trump criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin for unleashing a barrage of over 300 drones and missiles on Ukraine, marking some of the most intense assaults since the conflict’s onset.
The attacks, which came just days after Trump’s assurances that peace negotiations would begin “immediately,” have cast a shadow over fragile diplomatic efforts, including a prisoner exchange between the two nations.
The violence erupted as a carefully negotiated prisoner swap was in progress, with both sides agreeing to release approximately 1,000 detained combatants and civilians over three days. Despite this, Russia’s relentless strikes continued, with the final exchange scheduled for late Sunday. The timing of the attacks has raised questions about the Kremlin’s commitment to de-escalation.
Trump’s Frustration Boils Over
Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump expressed deep frustration with the surge in hostilities. “I’m not happy,” he said. “I’ve known [Putin] a long time, always gotten along with him, but he’s sending rockets into cities and k*lling people and I don’t like it at all. We’re in the middle of talking and he’s sending rockets into Kyiv and other cities. I don’t like it at all.”
Trump’s dismay grew as he reflected on the situation. “I’m very surprised. We’ll see what we’re going to do….I don’t like what Putin is doing…he’s k*lling people. Something happened to this guy and I don’t like it,” he added.

Later, Trump took to Truth Social to amplify his condemnation, writing, Putin “has gone absolutely CRAZY!” He warned, “Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever. I’ve always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it, and maybe that’s proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!”
Russia’s Relentless Offensive
Over the weekend, Russia launched relentless assaults, targeting 30 Ukrainian cities and villages on Saturday night before focusing on Kyiv on Sunday. Russian forces claimed to have captured three additional villages, a claim denied by Ukrainian officials.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky responded with a call for decisive action from the United States, arguing that inaction only emboldens Moscow. “The silence of America, the silence of others in the world only encourages Putin. Every such terrorist Russian strike is reason enough for new sanctions against Russia,” Zelensky declared in a Sunday statement.
Earlier this month, Secretary of State Marco Rubio signaled that the U.S. might impose a 500% tariff on Russian oil and gas if peace talks faltered, though he emphasized that such measures would hinge on Trump’s approval.
Trump Rejects Blame, Points Fingers
Trump, however, pushed back against Zelensky’s criticism. In a Truth Social post, he wrote, “Everything out of [Zelensky’s] mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop. This is a War that would never have started if I were President. This is Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s,’ I am only helping to put out the big and ugly fires, that have been started through Gross Incompetence and Hatred.”
Trump, who previously vowed to resolve the conflict “on day one” of his second term, now faces mounting pressure to address the escalating crisis as peace efforts falter.
