CNN reveals a dirty secret about this top Democrat

Rep. Eric Swalwell

CNN is hardly ever one to throw a leftist under the bus. But times are changing.

And CNN revealed a dirty secret about this top Democrat.

The Democratic establishment is in full panic mode yet again, pretending to be stunned by allegations against Eric Swalwell that insiders have likely known about for years.

On a recent episode of “CNN News Central,” Axios National Political Correspondent and CNN Political Analyst Alex Thompson delivered a dose of reality that the left would rather ignore.

Thompson zeroed in on the fact that concerns surrounding Swalwell were no mystery during his 2019 presidential campaign.

“This stuff was out there back when he ran for president in 2019. Now, there were no credible reports of it at the time, in part because a lot of the women would not come forward. But for Democrats to act like they had never heard of these rumors before, just strains credulity. If they had really wanted to look into it, they probably could have, and they didn’t.”

The veteran journalist went further, calling out the entire party’s ridiculous act of surprise over details that were floating around Washington circles long ago.

“The fallout is through the entire Democratic Party that, now, is claiming they are shocked, so shocked, they had no idea. And I can tell you, as a reporter, this stuff was out there back when he ran for president in 2019.”

“Now, there were no credible reports of it at the time, in part because a lot of the women would not come forward. But for Democrats to act like they had never heard of these rumors before, just strains credulity.”

“If they had really wanted to look into it, they probably could have, and they didn’t.”

Such blatant double standards reveal just how insulated the Democratic power players have become from any real accountability.

The political damage extends far beyond Swalwell himself, threatening to derail the ambitions of other key figures in the party.

Thompson singled out Sen. Ruben Gallego from Arizona as facing some of the toughest fallout.

Gallego had been laying the groundwork for his own shot at the presidency while maintaining an incredibly close relationship with Swalwell.

The two were not only roommates but also viewed as best friends, making Gallego’s claims of complete ignorance ring especially hollow.

“And one of the biggest potential political fallout for this comes for Sen. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), who had been prepping his own presidential campaign and was roommates and considered best friends with Eric Swalwell and is also saying that he was deceived and had no idea. And so, I think you’re going to see political consequences throughout the Democratic Party, but particularly with Sen. Gallego,” Thompson stated.

This tangled web of friendships and selective blindness only highlights the cozy club that dominates Democratic politics in Washington.
