Protecting the president is no easy task. It requires starring right into the face of danger in order to keep the leader of the free world safe.
But now the Biden White House is shaking in fear after the Secret Service was blindsided by a brutal attack.
This past weekend, President Joe Biden was in California for a visit.
Part of the visit included attending a fundraising event in Los Angeles that featured former President Barack Obama.
But the trip involved a very scary moment on Saturday evening when a Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint, according to the Tustin Police Department (TPD).
“On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at approximately 9:36 p.m., Tustin Police Officers responded to a call of a possible robbery that just occurred at the Tustin Fields I residential community,” TPD press release said.
“On arrival, officers discovered the victim was a member of the U.S. Secret Service and his bag was stolen at gunpoint.”
TPD also noted in the press release that a “shoot occurred” during the robbery but they haven’t been able to find the suspects and “it is unknown” if they sustained any injuries.
“Officers have located some of the victim’s belongings in the area and the incident is still being investigated.”
Anthony Guglielmi, the Chief of Communications for the Secret Service, told Brietbart News that an agent for the Secret Service was indeed involved in an armed robbery as they were “returning from a work assignment.”
“A member of the U.S. Secret Service was the victim of an armed robbery in Tustin, California late Saturday when returning from a work assignment,” Guglielmi told Breitbart News.
“The employee discharged their service weapon during the incident but unknown if the assailants were struck. We are thankful that the employee did not sustain any injuries.”
Thankfully the agent was not injured during the robbery.
But this incident highlights California’s growing crime problem under Leftist Governor Gavin Newsom.
His inability to properly govern his state has brought about a failing economy, rampant crime, increasing homelessness, and major drug issues.
One of the big crimes that’s being committed in the Golden State is theft. Shoplifters waltz into stores with ease and know that they can get away with looting the store because of Newsom’s soft-on-crime policies.
And those policies are probably why an armed criminal felt emboldened enough to try and rob a Secret Service agent at gunpoint.
It’s high past time for California to get their crime problem under control before more people become victims of theft or violence.
