The Left is in panic mode. They have no clue how to avoid the massive defeat that’s coming.
And Democrats are melting down after latest report shows major blue state on verge of flipping for the GOP.
Donald Trump’s reelection campaign is surging.
If the election were held today, he would win handedly.
But now there’s a chance he and fellow Republicans could pick up victories in this deep blue state.
Republicans Set Their Sights on an Unexpected Battleground: New York
As the 2024 presidential election approaches, Republican lawmakers are focusing their efforts on key battleground states that they see as prime opportunities to reclaim the White House in November. Among these targets is a surprising contender: New York.
Traditionally a Democratic stronghold, New York has not seen a Republican presidential victory since 1984.
However, GOP leaders are optimistic, pointing to several House districts they flipped in the 2022 midterm elections as a sign of growing momentum.
“No state picked up more Republican seats than New York state,” noted House GOP Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) during a delegate breakfast on Thursday.
“We literally delivered the House Republican majority. It runs right through the state of New York.”
The 2022 midterms were marked by a tumultuous redistricting process, yet House Republicans managed to flip four seats, securing a slim majority in the lower chamber for the first time in four years.
Among these victories was freshman Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY), who unseated former Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney, marking the first defeat of a DCCC leader in forty years.
Buoyed by these successes, Republicans are confident in their ability to flip even more House seats in New York to expand their majority.
“We made history by ending Nancy Pelosi’s reign as speaker of the House,” Lawler said at the breakfast.
“And this is why on Nov. 5, Americans across this country — Republicans, independents, and Democrats — are going to unite to not only grow the House Republican majority but we’re going to flip the Senate and send [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer packing.”
Republican gains in New York have also sparked speculation about the potential for success at the presidential level. Former President Donald Trump, a former New York resident, is closely monitoring the state’s political landscape as he considers another bid for the White House.
“Whenever I talk to President Trump, which is a lot, he always asks about New York and how his polling is doing in New York,” Stefanik said.
“[Trump] has been a believer that Republicans are making inroads in New York. He has been a believer that Republicans can win New York and I share that belief.”
Although recent polls show President Joe Biden leading Trump in New York by an average of 7.5 percentage points, Stefanik cited data indicating strong performance for Trump in New York swing districts, which she believes could pave the way for a Republican victory.
