Democrats have always been wary of Robert Kennedy Jr.’s presidential campaign. They view him as a spoiler candidate that may sink their chances of defeating Donald Trump.
And Leftists are freaking out after learning what was said in this meeting between Trump and RFK Jr.
As former President Donald Trump’s campaign continues, it’s time for him to start considering more and more who will be in his Cabinet should he win a second presidential term.
Most individuals who Trump publicly considers for a role in his future admin. Will be undoubtedly scrutinized by the Left.
But this potential Cabinet member could really have them losing their minds.
RFK Jr. Meets with Trump at RNC to Discuss Potential Cabinet Role
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently met with former President Donald Trump during the Republican National Convention to discuss a possible Cabinet position for the independent candidate, according to the Washington Post.
This unexpected meeting took place on the sidelines of the convention, where Kennedy reportedly engaged in discussions with Trump and his team about supporting the former president in exchange for a role in a future administration.
However, the talks concluded without any plans for future actions, as Trump officials voiced concerns about the potential complications of offering a job in return for Kennedy’s endorsement.
Addressing the meeting, Kennedy stated, “All I will say to you is I am willing to talk to anybody from either political party who wants to talk about children’s health and how to end the chronic disease epidemic. I have a lot of respect for President Trump for reaching out to me. Nobody from the DNC, high or low, has ever reached out to me in 18 months. Instead, they have allocated millions to try to disrupt my campaign.”
The meeting was surprising given the public animosity both men have shown toward each other on the campaign trail.
Kennedy has criticized Trump for including corporate leaders in his previous administration, while Trump has often categorized Kennedy as a radical Leftist.
The initial communication was reportedly initiated by former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who sent a group text message including both Kennedy and Trump.
The two men then spoke on the phone that night, the same day as an assassination attempt on Trump. They continued their discussions during the week of the RNC.
Trump spokeswoman Danielle Alvarez commented on the meeting, saying, “President Trump met with RFK, and they had a conversation about the issues just as he does regularly with important figures in business and politics because they all recognize he will be the next president of the United States.”
Despite their discussions, Trump’s advisers ultimately decided that a vaccine critic would not be suitable for a role overseeing health and medical issues.
A leaked phone call between Kennedy and Trump revealed the former president agreeing with Kennedy’s concerns about the current mandated vaccine schedule, noting that the doses were too large in volume. Kennedy later apologized for the leak.
Despite these interactions, Kennedy remains committed to his campaign. He told the Washington Post, “We are in it to win it.”
The same report indicated that Trump had briefly considered naming Kennedy as his vice-presidential candidate, appreciating the potential appeal of a Trump-Kennedy ticket, but his advisers were opposed to the idea.
According to the RealClearPolitics polling average, Kennedy garners 10.5% support among Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump, Kennedy, and other candidates.
