The radical Left is handling President Donald Trump’s first few weeks in the White House as one would expect.
Simply put, they are furious that Trump and his administration are sticking to their promises that they made during the campaign trail.
Throughout the 2024 election cycle, Trump would highlight his new alliance with Elon Musk and would tease Musk’s role in a second Trump term. Donald Trump even announced that Elon Musk would head up the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) which would help cut down on government spending and waste.
Now that Trump is in office and Elon Musk is actually heading up DOGE, Democrats are acting like this came out of left-field. They aren’t used to politicians making good on their promises, and that’s causing them to simply riot against Trump and his admin.
Democrats Rally Against Elon Musk’s Treasury Access, Call for Resistance
A wave of Democratic protests erupted in Washington, D.C. this week in response to Elon Musk’s recent access to the Treasury Department. Spearheaded by several Leftist action groups, the demonstration drew dozens of protesters outside the Treasury building, where chants of “lock him up!” echoed through the streets.
Democratic leaders joined the rally, expressing outrage over Musk’s influence in federal financial affairs. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) addressed the crowd, delivering an angry speech against the billionaire.
“We cannot allow Elon Musk and a small group of people to secretly, behind closed doors, take away our privacy, take away our dollars, take away everything we have,” Schumer declared. “I am going to stand with you in this fight! And we will win,” he added, leading the crowd in a rousing chant.
Rep. LaMonica McIver also took the stage, emphasizing what she saw as a dangerous precedent. “We will let them know, especially the Republicans, that we will not take this!,” she vowed. “We will fight back! And as I close out… God d*mnit, shut down the Senate! We are at war! Any time a person can pay $250 million into a campaign and they be given access to the Department of Treasury of the United States of America, we are at war!”
As Rep. Dave Min stepped up to speak, the crowd erupted in chants of “lock him up,” further highlighting the Left’s irrational anger toward Musk.
Taking the rhetoric to another level, Rep. Ayanna Pressley didn’t hold back in her condemnation. “With unprecedented organizing, mobiliging [sic], mobilizing, agitating, we will see you in the courts, and Congress, and the streets. Elon Musk is a Nazi nepo-baby,” she declared, drawing thunderous applause.
“A lawless, Godless billionaire, and no one elected Elon. This is the American people. This is not your trashy cyber truck that you can dismantle in the park and sell the pieces of,” she said.
The protests follow revelations that Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) was granted access to the federal payment system by Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. The move gives Musk’s team the ability to oversee and potentially limit government spending.
Musk went on X on Saturday to defend the decision by calling out the Treasury Department. He alleged that the department has been approving fraudulent or improper payments, positioning his involvement as a necessary step toward accountability.
But for some reason, the radical Left is against any plan to cut down on wasteful spending by the government. It makes you wonder if they’re hiding something and don’t want Musk and the Trump admin to uncover it.
