Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is one of the more radical Leftists in Congress. She’s also known for her many braindead ideas and comments.
And AOC’s career is on the rocks after she made this idiotic statement about Kamala Harris’s husband.
At a recent campaign event for Vice President Kamala Harris held at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) took a moment to celebrate Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, commending him as a prime example of modern masculinity.
Speaking to a room full of students, Ocasio-Cortez lauded Emhoff’s approach to partnership, highlighting his ability to support and uplift his wife while embracing a secure sense of self.
“He’s not afraid to embody and pass on these values of security and this idea that you can, you can let your girl shine,” Ocasio-Cortez said, reflecting on Emhoff’s influence.
“And he embodies that really well. We should all be really, really proud of him,” she added.
Ocasio-Cortez continued, “A lot of ideas of what being a man means putting a woman down or putting qu**r people down. And this idea that, like, in order to elevate one’s value, we need to diminish the people around us.” By contrast, she noted that Emhoff’s way of being defies these outdated notions, positioning him as a refreshing role model.
The New York congresswoman’s praise for Emhoff came shortly after allegations resurfaced from a woman claiming to be an ex-girlfriend, who accused Emhoff of a violent incident in 2012.
The woman, identified only as “Jane,” alleged that Emhoff slapped her at the Cannes Film Festival over suspicions of flirtation with a valet. Emhoff has staunchly denied these claims, maintaining his stance against the allegations.
Emhoff has also been accused of having an affair during a previous marriage with the nanny of his child.
Overall, Ocasio-Cortez’s comments reflect a broader trend of media support for Emhoff.
In August, the Washington Post published an opinion piece that described Emhoff as a “modern-day s*x symbol” and “ideal partner,” further elevating his public image.
Columnist Catherine Rampell noted that Emhoff’s appeal lies in his comfort with a redefined masculinity, one that allows him to “sometimes prioritize his wife’s ambitions over his own.”
Rampell’s piece even suggested Emhoff represents the “modern female fantasy,” comparing him favorably to Hollywood heartthrob Ryan Gosling.
In her tribute to Emhoff, Ocasio-Cortez concluded with a reflection on his supportive role as a husband and father. “He’s able to stand beside the vice president’s side and lift her up instead of put her down,” she said.
“And he knows that by lifting up women, he’s also lifting up his fellow men around him. He’s not afraid to be a dad of a powerful daughter and a great son.”
Ocasio-Cortez must have forgotten about the allegations regarding Emhoff’s abusive behavior in a past relationship.
That type of behavior doesn’t sound very uplifting of women, but Leftists like AOC are sure to ignore that as it doesn’t fit their narrative.
Imagine if allegations like the ones against Emhoff came out about Donald Trump or JD Vance? Democrats would lose their minds and would be covering the allegations on the news for days on end.
But since Doug Emhoff is the subject of these allegations, the Leftist mainstream media and Democrat elites have gone silent.
So much for “lifting up women” as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says.
