The Secret Service is the last line of defense between the president and danger. The nation can’t afford for that defense to crumble.

And a bombshell report exposes just how bad the Secret Service was under Joe Biden.

The U.S. Secret Service under Joe Biden’s watch turned into a showcase for diversity, equity, and inclusion policies that critics say compromised national security. A recent RealClearPolitics exposé lays bare the mess, pointing to DEI hires and other internal chaos, including the bizarre case of a plus-size agent who doubled as a model. This comes as the agency grapples with the fallout from two failed assassination attempts on President Donald Trump during his 2024 campaign.

Current Secret Service Director Sean Curran faces the tough job of rebuilding trust in an organization battered by scandals. He’s stepping in after the damage done under Biden, where the focus shifted from elite protection to social engineering experiments. The RealClearPolitics piece, out on Wednesday, pulls no punches in exposing how these priorities led to dangerous lapses.

Former Director Kimberly Cheatle spearheaded the DEI drive, aiming to transform the federal government into a nationwide example of inclusive hiring. Her tenure ended in disgrace when she stepped down in July 2024, following a disastrous congressional grilling. Lawmakers demanded answers on the agency’s failure to stop the shooter at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, but Cheatle came up empty, according to Breitbart News.

Digging deeper, the article reveals the extent of DEI’s grip on the Secret Service. It spotlights one agent whose story epitomizes the problems: an overweight woman who flunked her fitness tests but kept her badge thanks to relaxed standards.

“Under Cheatle’s leadership, DEI had become so normalized that an overweight female agent who never passed her physical fitness tests was not only retained on staff – she was allowed to moonlight as a model. The agent, who was featured in a magazine profile, traded on her job in federal law enforcement and hinted at her Secret Service position in a photo shoot labeled, ‘Undercover, But Never Underdressed,'” per RealClearPolitics.

This agent’s side gig as a plus-size influencer raised eyebrows, but the real issue was her assignment to high-profile duties despite clear shortcomings. She even guarded Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, in New York City before being shuffled to a less demanding role.

“The female agent, who bills herself as a ‘nationally published curve model, plus-size fashion and fitness influencer, and body-positive advocate’ on social media, was assigned to protect Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, in New York. After several failed attempts to pass a physical fitness test, the agent was placed in the Special Services Division, which handles support functions for the agency, including the maintenance of the armored vehicle fleet and the screening of mail and packages for the White House complex, according to four sources in the Secret Service community,” the article states.

Such decisions fueled concerns that merit took a backseat to meeting quotas, potentially endangering lives. The push for inclusivity at all costs clashed with the rigorous demands of protecting America’s leaders, especially in an era of heightened threats.

The bipartisan Task Force on the Attempted Assassination of Donald J. Trump wrapped up its investigation in December, delivering a scathing verdict. According to Breitbart News, it pinpointed breakdowns in planning, operations, and oversight within the Secret Service, confirming what many suspected: systemic rot under Biden’s policies.

Fast forward to September 2025, and the troubles keep piling up. One agent, Anthony Pough, landed in hot water over a social media rant about the assassination of Turning Point USA’s Charlie Kirk on September 10. The agency put him on administrative leave and yanked his security clearance, per Breitbart News:

“Anthony Pough, identified by Real Clear Politics as a current Secret Service agent, posted Wednesday that Kirk had ‘spewed hate and racism on his show’ and added, ‘At the end of the day, you answer to GOD and speak things into existence. You can only circumvent karma, she doesn’t leave.’ The post, which circulated within the Secret Service community, drew alarm from colleagues, one of whom told Real Clear Politics that the comments were troubling for someone sworn to protect the rights of all Americans, including their political speech.”

This incident highlights how partisan biases might have infiltrated an institution meant to be neutral and vigilant.

According to Breitbart News, on September 29, the Secret Service nabbed a suspect attempting to climb the White House fence while Trump was inside.

The quick response averted disaster, but it serves as a stark reminder of the constant dangers facing the president in a polarized nation.

These episodes paint a picture of an agency struggling to shake off the Biden-era baggage. From DEI-driven hires to agents venting personal vendettas online, the Secret Service appears riddled with distractions that could prove fatal.

As Director Curran works to steer the ship back on course, conservatives argue it’s time to prioritize competence over ideology.

Restoring the Secret Service to its former glory means ditching the woke experiments and focusing on what matters: keeping American leaders safe from real threats.
