The mainstream media usually plays cover for the Left. But even they are getting sick of it.
Now CNN exposes the Democrat Party in a betrayal no one saw coming.
CNN polling expert Harry Enten has highlighted a troubling shift within the Democratic Party, where extreme progressive elements are gaining undue influence, potentially alienating mainstream voters and risking broader electoral fallout.
Analyst’s Observations on Party Dynamics
Enten pointed to recent electoral outcomes as evidence of this concerning trend, particularly a special election in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District.
There, far-left candidate Analilia Mejia triumphed in the Democratic primary without backing from party insiders, supported instead by prominent socialists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders.
He remarked, “The results from that special election, that Democratic primary in the 11th District in New Jersey, speak to a larger point within the Democratic Party, and that is that the far-left is significantly more powerful than they once were.”
Enten emphasized how figures like Sanders and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani represent a growing faction, stating, “Bernie Sanders and [New York City Mayor] Zohran Mandani are not alone.
They are a considerable part of the Democratic base at this point,” and added, “What happened in New York City is not some aberration, right? It is not something that just happened in New York City, it is something that we are seeing grow within the Democratic Party at this particular point.”
Shifting Ideological Data
Backing his analysis, Enten shared stark statistics showing the radicalization of the party’s base.
The share of Democrats calling themselves “very liberal” has surged from just 5% in 1999 to 21% today, while those identifying as “conservative” has plummeted from 26% to a mere 8%.
He noted, “The far-left, which used to just be a smidgen within the Democratic Party, has gained considerable power.”
Furthermore, around one-third of Democrats now embrace the label of democratic socialists, with that figure climbing to 42% among those under 35, underscoring how younger demographics are increasingly drawn to these fringe ideologies.
Public Perception and Potential Consequences
This leftward lurch hasn’t gone unnoticed by the wider electorate, with polls revealing growing unease. A record 58% of Americans now view the Democratic Party as “too liberal,” up from 42% in 1996.
Enten warned of the dangers, saying, “The Democrats are moving to the left, the far-left is gaining power, and there could be some electoral repercussions because what we see right now is voters, the clear majority, say that they are too liberal.”
In a social media post, he reinforced: “An all-time high, 58%, of voters say the Dem Party is too liberal. This comes as 1-in-3 Democrats think of themselves as Democratic Socialists! And the % of Dems who say they’re very liberal has quadrupled since 1999. NJ-11, NYC mayor & Bernie Sanders are no aberration.”
Such developments raise alarms about the party’s direction, as unchecked far-left dominance could deepen divisions and hinder effective governance.
