The 2024 elections will make or break the radical Left this November. But their hopes to win them are looking very grim at the moment.

And Democrats fell to their knees after receiving this devastating news from a key 2024 swing state.

Michigan Senate Race Moves to Toss-Up, Adding Pressure on Biden’s Political Future

Democrats faced a significant setback Thursday as the Michigan Senate race was reclassified as a toss-up, putting additional strain on President Joe Biden’s political future.

The Cook Political Report announced a shift in the Michigan Senate race from “lean Democrat” to “toss-up.”

This change is driven by several factors, notably Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-MI), the leading Democratic contender for the state’s open Senate seat, trailing behind Biden’s statewide numbers.

“If there was one race that was looking like a stronger opportunity for Republicans even before the CNN debate and looks even more in play now, it is Michigan,” writes Jessica Taylor of the Cook Political Report.

Taylor attributes the shift to Biden’s poor performance during the June 27 debate, which, coupled with a tighter presidential race in Michigan, might dampen Democratic turnout and jeopardize their chances of securing the Senate seat.

Slotkin, a former CIA analyst known for flipping a House seat blue in 2018, is expected to run against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R-MI). Rogers has gained traction and received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.

The Senate seat is open following Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s (D-MI) retirement announcement in January 2023.

Although Slotkin has proven to be a strong fundraiser with credible experience, her lack of statewide campaign experience and absence of incumbent advantages contribute to the race’s new toss-up rating.

During a Tuesday fundraiser, Slotkin informed donors that private polling shows Biden trailing Trump in Michigan, according to the New York Times.

Public polls indicate a toss-up in the presidential race, with some recent surveys showing Slotkin slightly ahead in the Senate race.

After an extended meeting with senior Biden campaign officials at the headquarters of the Senate Democrats’ political campaign arm, most senators declined to comment.

However, Stabenow expressed confidence in Biden’s strategy, stating, “I know he can win Michigan. I know Michigan.”

When asked about Biden’s overall election prospects, Stabenow refrained from making any predictions.

This new rating follows another significant update from the Cook Political Report, which shifted ratings for six states toward Republicans in Trump’s favor.

The Cook Political Report moved Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada from “toss-up” to “lean Republican” and adjusted Minnesota and New Hampshire from “likely” to “lean Democrat.” Additionally, Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District shifted from “likely” to “lean Democrat.”
