Politics has gotten out of control. It’s led to unspeakable violence.
And now this major Republican just fell victim to a shocking violent attack.
Just in the past five years, Americans have watched the political world boil to a point where violence has broken out.
The summer of 2020 was a real breaking point where the radical Left took the death of George Floyd as a green light to bring dozens of America’s cities to their knees.
There was billions of dollars in property damage as a result of those riots and countless injuries and even some tragic deaths.
Americans are also horrified by the tragedy that just took place in Nashville, Tennessee where a transgender fatally shot three kids and three adults in a Christian classical school.
Many believe that attack was obviously political in nature given that the transgender shooter was a former student.
But the latest victim of these violent attacks that appear political in nature comes from the office of a Republican in the U.S. Senate.
Rand Paul released a statement that his staff was attacked in a stabbing that occurred in “broad daylight” in the Washington, D.C. area.
“This past weekend a member of my staff was brutally attacked in broad daylight in Washington, D.C. I ask you to join Kelley and me in praying for a speedy and complete recovery, and thanking the first responders, hospital staff, and police for their diligent actions,” Paul said according to his office’s official statement.
The suspect was eventually arrested and has now been charged with attempt to murder.
Glynn Neal, the suspect, has a history of violent crimes that include charges for first-degree assault and even served 12 years in prison.
Neal attacked the Republican staffer within 24 hours after being released from prison.
“We are relieved to hear the suspect has been arrested,” Rand Paul added in the statement. “At this time we would ask for privacy so everyone can focus on healing and recovery.”
It’s unclear if this attack was an attack because of Rand Paul’s politics, but it certainly seems like it may be.
The suspect going after the Republican staff member within 24 hours of being released sounds like it could have been premeditated.
Of course, you won’t see this plastered all over the news like you would if it was a Democrat Senator’s staff member that was attacked.
When Nancy Pelosi’s husband fell victim to a gross attack, it was all the media could talk about for weeks on end.
They even blamed conservatives for the attack as they tried to argue that conservatives are responsible for political rhetoric that emboldens violent criminals.
But when it’s conservatives who are victims, there’s crickets. The truth is that the political violence needs to end, regardless.
