Harris thought she had the Florida governor dead to rights. But she didn’t realize he’d fight back.

And Ron DeSantis silences Kamala Harris with this brutal takedown.

DeSantis Fires Back at VP Harris’s Criticism Ahead of Hurricane Milton

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis pushed back against Vice President Kamala Harris’s remarks labeling him “selfish” in the lead-up to Hurricane Milton, countering that the vice president should “look in the mirror.”

Harris had accused DeSantis of politicizing hurricane relief efforts by disregarding her outreach, a claim the governor dismissed as politically motivated.

Harris’s critique came during a Monday interview, where she expressed frustration with DeSantis for ignoring her attempts to communicate about the hurricane response. In response, DeSantis maintained that he was unaware of any such outreach, pointing out that Harris had “never called” Florida during any previous storms since she assumed office.

“Why all of a sudden is she trying to parachute in and inject herself when she’s never shown any interest in the past?” DeSantis questioned during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

“We know it’s because of politics. We know it’s because of her campaign. I have zero time to entertain these political games. We’re going to continue to do what we need to do to prepare and respond to what may be one of the most damaging storms in the history of the United States. So she says focusing on protecting your people is selfish — I think she ought to look in the mirror.”

DeSantis emphasized that, despite Harris’s claims, he has been in regular contact with both President Joe Biden and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as part of Florida’s preparations for the hurricane. He also pointed out that Harris has no role in the chain of command for hurricane response, asserting that her accusations were politically driven.

With Hurricane Milton on the horizon, Florida has already ramped up its preparedness measures, including activating the Florida State Guard and ensuring ample fuel supplies for residents.

DeSantis reassured the public that the state is doing everything in its power to mitigate the storm’s impact.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented that the decision to engage with the administration rests with DeSantis, stating, “It is up to DeSantis if he wants to respond to us or not.” She added that federal agencies are working closely with local and state officials to ensure readiness for Hurricane Milton.

Amid concerns over FEMA’s financial capacity, agency head Deanne Criswell assured the public that there is “absolutely” enough funding to handle recovery efforts for both Hurricane Milton and the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, despite previous warnings from Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas that FEMA’s resources might not last through the hurricane season.

The storm is expected to pose a significant threat, and all eyes are on Florida’s preparations and response in the coming days.

As political tensions mount, DeSantis has made it clear that his priority remains the safety and well-being of Floridians, not the “political games” that Kamala Harris is playing.

It’s obvious that she’s using this event as a way to score political points less than a month before the presidential election.

But as her lies about this situation are exposed, Kamala Harris is doing to opposite of winning over voters.
