On Sunday, Noem appeared on CBS’s “Face the Nation” to lay out the cold, hard facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien the Trump administration rightfully booted back to El Salvador earlier this year. But by the afternoon, she spotted that the network had sliced and diced the footage, chopping out key parts of her response that exposed Garcia’s true nature.
In the full, unedited clip that CBS tried to hide, Noem didn’t mince words: “This individual was a known human smuggler, a MS-13 gang member, an individual who was a wife beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited n*de photos from minors, and even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off, he was so sick in what he was doing and how he was treating small children.”
She drove the point home with unbreakable resolve: “So he needs to never be in the United States of America and our administration is making sure we’re doing all that we can to bring him to justice.”
Of course, CBS scrambled to defend their sleazy edit job. A network rep insisted to the New York Post: “Secretary Noem’s “Face The Nation” interview was edited for time and met all CBS News standards.” They even pointed out that the full interview is up on YouTube and the transcript hit CBSNews.com early Sunday morning.
Noem took to X to call out the betrayal loud and clear: “This morning, I joined CBS to report the facts about Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Instead, CBS shamefully edited the interview to whitewash the truth about this MS-13 gang member and the threat he poses to American public safety.”
This whole mess stems from a 2019 ruling by a federal immigration judge who blocked Abrego Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador, citing supposed threats from local gangs. But the Trump team wasn’t having it— earlier this year they loaded him up with hundreds of other suspected gang members and shipped them straight to a massive prison in El Salvador.
The administration pegged him as a full-fledged member of MS-13, that brutal outfit the U.S. has labeled a foreign terrorist organization, based on evidence from that very 2019 court fight. And let’s not forget, MS-13 has spilled American blood on our streets for years, thanks to weak border policies.
Yet Abrego Garcia and his slick lawyers keep denying he’s part of the gang, painting him as some innocent victim.
Meanwhile, Democrats couldn’t resist jumping in to champion Garcia, visiting him and pushing the narrative that he was “wrongfully” yanked to El Salvador. They whined about his stint in the infamous CECOT prison and then a softer lockup, acting like he’s the real sufferer here instead of the American families terrorized by these invaders.
Brought back to the U.S. in June, Abrego Garcia got slapped with human smuggling charges—but he was let loose for a bit before his trial, only to get nabbed again by ICE on August 25.
Now he’s staring down deportation to Uganda after turning his nose up at a plea deal that would’ve shipped him to Costa Rica instead. But his attorneys aren’t done scheming—they’re gunning for asylum in America, even after his 2019 bid got shot down. If they pull this off, Garcia could snag a green card and eventually become a U.S. citizen.
