Donald Trump’s already checking things off his list. He’s done more in one day than Biden has in a year.

And what Trump accomplished on his first full day in office left Americans stunned.

ICE Conducts Nationwide Raids, Arresting Hundreds on Trump’s First Day as President

According to the New York Post, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 308 illegal aliens, including an attempted m*rderer, on President Donald Trump’s first full day in the White House.

According to a senior official in the Trump administration, on January 21, a coordinated coast-to-coast operation targeted criminal migrants in and around sanctuary cities such as Denver, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Seattle, Baltimore, and Miami. The operation involved multiple agencies and marked the beginning of the mass deportations Trump had promised during his campaign.

High-Profile Arrests Across the Country

In Silver Spring, Maryland, ICE agents apprehended Edward Marlon Rauda-Aldnada, a 56-year-old s*x offender from El Salvador. Meanwhile, in Colorado, officers with ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) detained Jose Barco-Chirino, a Venezuelan national, at Colorado State Prison. Barco-Chirino, convicted of attempted m*rder and other violent offenses, will remain in ICE custody until deportation proceedings are concluded.

Miguel Andres-Mateo, a 20-year-old from Guatemala, was arrested near Atlanta. Andres-Mateo, previously deported in 2014, had been convicted of driving under the influence and is now awaiting removal from the U.S. once again.

Philadelphia authorities captured Kodir Mazhidov, a 22-year-old citizen of Tajikistan, for violating terms of his previous release. His arrest followed a series of offenses, including reckless endangerment and fleeing law enforcement.

Seattle agents detained Victorino Gaytan-Hernandez, a Mexican national previously convicted of s*xually abusing a minor. In Miami, ICE rounded up six Guatemalan nationals with extensive criminal records, including charges of child abuse, battery, and fraud.

Renewed Focus on Sanctuary Cities and Border Security

These raids underscore ICE’s intensified efforts under the leadership of newly appointed border czar Tom Homan. Homan has reiterated the administration’s commitment to targeting criminal migrants, particularly in sanctuary cities, despite resistance from local authorities.

“ICE is doing their job,” Homan told Fox News, emphasizing that approximately 700,000 illegal migrants with criminal records remain at large. He explained that ICE officers are actively pursuing these individuals, relying on a comprehensive “target sheet” of high-priority offenders.

Even without cooperation from sanctuary jurisdictions, Homan assured that federal agents would continue their work. We’ll “wait ’til they get out of jail, then we’ll go out into the neighborhoods and get them,” he said to the New York Post.

Expanding Resources at the Southern Border

In parallel with these raids, the Trump administration is ramping up border security. Homeland Security sources confirmed to the New York Post that border agents have been directed to detain and deport migrants crossing illegally rather than releasing them into the U.S.

On Wednesday, President Trump signed an executive order deploying 1,500 additional active-duty troops to the southern border, bolstering the existing force of 2,200 troops and thousands of National Guardsmen.

“President Trump signed an executive order — 1,500 additional troops to the United States southern border,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said. “This comes off of his day one action… to direct the Department of Defense to make homeland security a core mission of the agency.”

Leavitt added, “This is something President Trump campaigned on. The American people have been waiting for such a time as this, for our Department of Defense to actually take homeland security seriously. This is a number one priority of the American people and the president has already delivered.”

As the Trump administration moves forward with its aggressive immigration enforcement agenda, ICE’s operations signal a significant shift in the nation’s approach to border security and illegal immigration, one that’s much different than the Biden administration’s approach.
