In a no-holds-barred interview on NewsNation’s The Hill, Georgia Republican Rep. Rich McCormick delivered a blunt message that resonates with millions of Americans tired of endless half-measures in foreign policy.
The United States has the power to confront evil regimes head-on, and McCormick made clear that hesitation only invites more trouble from Tehran’s tyrants.
McCormick cut straight to the chase about the conflict with Iran:
“In my personal opinion, we should have finished this a long time ago. You don’t let up, you don’t do a peace process while you’re not bombing, because, quite frankly, these guys have been defiant.”
He didn’t mince words on the nature of the enemy. The mullahs in Tehran have shown nothing but hostility toward America and its allies for decades.
Their goal remains the destruction of everything that makes our nation strong and free. Weak diplomatic gestures and temporary pauses achieve nothing against such fanatics.
“This Tehran regime needs to be replaced. I’ve been unapologetic about that from the beginning. … These guys have never wanted to do anything but destroy the American way. … They’ve been nothing but defiant. They will never be anything other than that,” McCormick declared.
President Donald Trump has approached this challenge with the resolve Americans expect from a true leader. According to McCormick, Trump set the clear objective of unconditional surrender.
That kind of decisive language sends a powerful message to adversaries who only understand strength.
Yet questions remain about why the campaign paused at a critical moment.
Host Blake Burman pressed McCormick on the decision: “So, why do you think they stopped, why do you think the president stopped and do you think he should just finish the job?”
“Well, because, of course, gas prices and the midterm elections, we have a real constitutional obligation to win wars, but also, at the same — to protect the United States, but, at the same time, to win the elections, because if you can’t win the elections, you can’t control the same policies that will protect the nation in the future,” McCormick explained.
