This could potentially be the Republican party’s worst nightmare. They may not recover from this potential presidential announcement.
And rumors circling this RINO’s participation in the presidential race are heating up.
Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) announced in November of last year that he was not planning to run for reelection in 2024.
Instead, Manchin is planning on working to help the country in other ways, including by trying to unite the middle between those on the Left and those on the Right.
That’s led to him being rumored to run for president as a third-party candidate.
Manchin hasn’t shut any of these rumors down and has even said he’d make a decision after Super Tuesday.
And while on his “listening tour,” Manchin made a stop in Cleveland, Ohio on Thursday where he revealed who his potential running mate might be.
“Hypothetically, if I was picking my running mate, really who I would ask right now is Mitt Romney,” the senator said.
Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) is a known RINO who is a major critic of Donald Trump’s.
Romney also ran for president as a Republican in 2012, where he lost to President Barack Obama.
In 2019, he became a U.S. Senator for Utah and supported a lot of Sen. Mitch McConnell’s (R-KY) efforts, which usually helped push President Joe Biden’s radical agenda.
Former Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), who is also a RINO, was another potential pick for Manchin.
“Rob’s a dear friend of mine. What a good man,” he said.
Manchin has said that he would run for president on the “No Labels” ticket if Biden is caught up in a “health scare.”
No Labels is a third party that considers themselves bipartisan.
They currently have the middle of March as a deadline for Manchin to decide whether or not he wants to run for president on their ticket.
The leaders of that party are unsure if he’ll end up running or not, according to what they told CNN.
Last year, Sen. Romney announced he would be retiring and not seeking reelection in 2024. Staunch conservatives made a sigh of relief at that announcement.
But if Romney is able to find a way to get back into politics again, that would be bad news for Republicans who are sick of his RINO tendencies.
