Potential third-party run for this Republican has turned the 2024 election sideways

The idea of a second round of Trump vs. Biden has some people on edge. But a wrench might be thrown into that matchup with this latest campaign proposal.

And a potential third-party run for this Republican has turned the 2024 election sideways.

No Labels, a political organization which puts together third-party campaigns for candidates who align more in the middle, has their eyes set on a particular Republican.

Joe Cunningham, the national director of No Labels, told Fox News on Sunday that current GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley could “definitely” be a candidate for their organization.

“We’re looking for great quality people, folks that have broad appeal to independents, Democrats, Republicans. And, yeah, I mean, Nikki Haley is somebody we’d definitely be interested in,” Cunningham said while appearing on “Fox & Friends.”

Currently, No Labels is on the ballot in just 16 states, but they’re hoping to expand that number to all 50 states.

Cunningham also mentioned that the organization is reaching out to many more people who they think are qualified to make a third-party run.

“The truth is we’re talking to a lot of spectacular people right now, and we’re not ready to unveil those folks just yet,” he said on the Fox News program.

“This has been a project to essentially give Americans another choice. If they’re unhappy with the presumptive nominees, which, you know, it appears it’s going to be Trump versus Biden right now, but we don’t know.”

“Nikki Haley, she’s … remaining in the race. You can’t count her out completely. And hats off to her for staying in it and for sticking with it.”

But despite No Labels’ interests in Haley, she doesn’t plan on launching any sort of third-party run according to what a spokesperson for her campaign told the Hill.

“Nikki has no interest in No Labels. She’s perfectly happy with the Republican label,” the spokesperson said.

However, a third-party run would likely be the best chance she’s got at being on the presidential ballot come November.

So far in the Republican primary, Haley has been shellacked by Donald Trump in multiple voting contests which began in January.

She even lost this past weekend in her home state of South Carolina by 20 points to the former president.

But regardless of the crushing defeats, she’s still planning to stay in the race until at least Super Tuesday.

For Trump, however, it’s widely accepted that he’s basically locked up the party’s nomination.

Support for Haley’s campaign is starting to fall off, with donors and political groups reading the writing on the wall that the former president is likely going to beat her.

In fact, on Sunday, Americans for Prosperity Action stopped their spending on Haley’s campaign after she lost in the Palmetto State.
