President Joe Biden’s critics are coming from everywhere now. Even Democrats aren’t thrilled with his performance as president.
And Biden was smacked with a scathing rebuke by a former Obama official.
Jon Favreau, a former speechwriter for President Barack Obama, issued some harsh criticism to Joe Biden earlier this week.
Favreau claimed that by not changing his stance on his policy choices towards Israel, Biden made himself “look weak.”
Joe Biden and his administration initially came out in support of Israel after Hamas attacked them on October 7. Some Democrats though, have been critical of Biden’s support of the Jewish nation.
And after an airstrike by the Israeli military on Tuesday that left seven aid workers dead, Biden apparently became “privately enraged” at the Jewish nation, according to a report from Politico.
This is why Favreau believes the president looks weak in this situation because of his lack of changing his policy towards Israel despite being “enraged” at their actions.
“The President doesn’t get credit for being ‘privately enraged’ when he still refuses to use leverage to stop the IDF from killing and starving innocent people,” Favreau said in a post on X.
“These stories only make him look weak.”

Favreau, who is the host of the Pod Save America podcast, wasn’t shy in responding to criticisms of his post slamming President Biden.
“I’ve always had great personal respect and affection for Biden, and I’ve loved most of what he’s done as president. Contrary to what some in the Extremely Online community think, it’s possible to disagree with certain policies and/or strategies of politicians who you support,” he said to one critic in particular.
Biden did come out publicly to express how he’s against the strike from Israel that killed seven aid workers.
“I am outraged and heartbroken by the deaths of seven humanitarian workers from World Central Kitchen, including one American, in Gaza yesterday,” he said through a statement.
“They were providing food to hungry civilians in the middle of a war. They were brave and selfless. Their deaths are a tragedy.”
The entire Israel-Hamas conflict has brought about trouble for Biden regarding his stance on the issue.
More progressive Democrats are against his support of Israel, while some moderate members of the Party are frustrated with some of his flip-flopping of support that he’s done recently through his critiques of Israeli leadership including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
There’s also been Democrats in states like Michigan who are refusing to vote for Biden unless he withdraws his support from Israel.
Either way, this seems to be a lose-lose situation for the president who’s being attacked from all sides of his own voting base.
