The world is becoming more and more unhinged. Politicians now fear for their safety everywhere they go.

And this top Republican was brutally attacked at the U.S. Capitol in a startling turn of events.

Congresswoman Nancy Mace Reports Assault at the Capitol by Transgender Rights Activist

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) revealed that she was “physically accosted” on Tuesday at the US Capitol complex by a transgender rights activist who was eventually apprehended by Capitol Police.

“I was physically accosted at the Capitol tonight by a pro-tr*ns man,” Mace shared on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

The congresswoman also disclosed that she had sustained minor injuries during the altercation. “One new brace for my wrist and some ice for my arm and it’ll heal just fine,” she added.

Mace, who has been vocal about limiting access to single-s*x facilities in the Capitol, suggested the incident was triggered by her stance on protecting women’s spaces. “This happened over my fight to protect women,” she stated.

Capitol Police confirmed the arrest of James McIntyre, a 33-year-old from Illinois, in connection with the altercation. McIntyre faces a charge of assaulting a government official.

The Capitol Police provided details about the incident, noting it occurred inside the Rayburn House Office Building around 6:00 p.m.

“House Division officers, and agents with the Threat Assessment Section, tracked down the suspect. After an investigative interview, officers arrested the suspect,” the department said in a statement.

Officials also clarified that McIntyre had passed through security screening prior to entering the building, which was open to the public at the time.

Mace and her team have reportedly faced increased threats following her introduction of a resolution to ban transgender women from using female facilities in the Capitol.

The proposed measure came after the election of Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.), who will become the first openly transgender member of Congress next month.

In a pointed response to Tuesday’s incident, Mace remained resolute in her advocacy. “Your tr*ns violence and threats on my life will only make me double down. FAFO,” she wrote on X, using the acronym for “F–k around and find out.”

“All the violence and threats keep proving our point. Women deserve to be safe,” she emphasized in another post. “Your threats will not stop my fight for women!”

Capitol Police recently made headlines after arresting over a dozen transgender rights activists, including Chelsea Manning, during a protest near a women’s restroom in the Capitol complex. Those individuals were hit with obstructing, crowding, or incommoding charges.

Despite the tension, Mace remains committed to her stance, reiterating her goal of ensuring safety for women while facing escalating opposition from radical transgender protestors.
