Trump has a way of sticking it to the Leftist media. They can’t stand him because of it.
And this ABC News reporter was mortified after what President Trump said to him live on air.
Trump Clashes with ABC’s Terry Moran in 100th-Day Interview
In a marking his 100th day in office, President Donald Trump sparred with ABC News senior national correspondent Terry Moran, delivering a sharp rebuke while explaining why he granted Moran “the break of a lifetime” for the high-profile interview. The exchange, marked by heated moments and pointed jabs, centered on the controversial deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected MS-13 gang member, and spiraled into a clash over trust, law, and media credibility.
A Presidential Put-Down
The interview took a confrontational turn when Moran questioned Trump about the tattoos on Abrego Garcia, a deportee whose case has drawn national attention. Trump didn’t hold back, putting Moran on the spot with a mix of blunt humor and criticism.
“Hey, they’re giving you the big break of a lifetime, you know you’re doing the interview,” Trump stated. “I picked you because frankly, I never heard of you.”
He added, “I picked you, but you’re not being very nice,” effectively halting the discussion on Abrego Garcia’s tattoos with a personal jab at the journalist.
The Tattoo Controversy
At the heart of the dispute was Kilmar Abrego Garcia, deported from Maryland to El Salvador, where he’s been detained since March 15. Trump zeroed in on tattoos on Abrego Garcia’s left hand—a marijuana leaf, smiley face, cross, and skull—which the administration claims subtly spell out “M S 1 3,” linking him to the notorious Mara Salvatrucha gang.
“Wait a minute, he had ‘MS-13’ on his knuckles,” Trump insisted, referencing a White House graphic meant to clarify the tattoos’ meaning.
Moran pushed back, suggesting the symbols were open to interpretation. “Oh, he had some tattoos that were interpreted that way,” he said, attempting to pivot to another question.
Trump wasn’t having it. “Wait a minute, Terry, Terry, don’t do that. It says MS-13,” he said, doubling down on the graphic’s depiction. When Moran claimed the image was photoshopped, Trump shot back, “That was photoshopped? Terry, you can’t do that,” before dismissing Moran as an unknown figure in journalism.
Deportation and the Rule of Law
The interview also delved into Trump’s deportation policies, with Moran questioning the lack of hearings for suspected gang members like Abrego Garcia. Trump defended his administration’s approach, emphasizing a “legal process” guided by his legal team.
“They get whatever my lawyers say,” Trump said, addressing the rights afforded to deportees.
Moran persisted, framing the issue as a matter of legal principle. “The law is the law,” he pressed, prompting Trump to highlight Abrego Garcia’s alleged violent history, including physical abuse against his wife.
“This is an MS-13 gang member, a tough cookie, been in lots of skirmishes, beat the h*ll out of his wife,” Trump stated. “OK? This is not an innocent, wonderful gentleman from Maryland.” Moran clarified he wasn’t defending Abrego Garcia’s character, stating that he’s “not saying [Abrego Garcia] is a good guy.” Instead, he doubled down on the importance of the “rule of law,” keeping the tension high.
Trust Issues and a Final Jab
The interview reached another flashpoint when Moran asked Trump about his trust in Russian President Vladimir Putin. The president’s response was swift and cutting. “I don’t trust you,” Trump bluntly stated. “I don’t trust a lot of people.”
The remark encapsulated the contentious dynamic, with Trump positioning himself as a skeptic of both the media and international figures. For Moran, the interview was a stark reminder of Trump’s willingness to challenge journalists head-on, even in a moment meant to celebrate his administration’s early milestones.
