Musk and Trump have had an all out feud. It’s gotten ugly.

But Elon Musk is trying to come crawling back to the White House in latest move of desperation.

Tensions Flare Between Elon Musk and President Trump

At the time of writing, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk may hold talks with White House aides this weekend to ease the growing rift with President Donald Trump, according to Fox News. The clash, which has spilled across social media platforms, marks a sharp escalation in their once-amicable relationship.

The friction began simmering about a month ago when Musk started “wearing thin” on Trump, as reported by Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy. The situation reached a boiling point this week, fueled by Musk’s sharp criticism of a Trump-backed legislative proposal.

On Tuesday, Musk took to X, slamming the “big, beautiful bill” as a “disgusting abomination” and a “massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill.” He didn’t hold back, adding, “Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

White House aides, per Doocy, weren’t anticipating a direct call between Musk and Trump on Friday but indicated that administration staff might reach out to the tech mogul. A source familiar with the situation told Fox News, “No call scheduled or had. Musk wants a call. POTUS hasn’t made a decision.”

The feud took a darker turn on Thursday when Musk posted on X, alleging, “@RealDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” He followed up with, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.” These claims added fuel to an already fiery exchange.

Trump hit back on Truth Social, writing, “Elon was ‘wearing thin,’ I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!”

Trump also suggested cutting Musk’s government subsidies, stating, “The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon’s Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn’t do it!”

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the situation, saying, “This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful BIll because it does not include the policies he wanted. The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.”

Adding to the drama, a red Tesla, purchased by Trump during a South Lawn demonstration earlier this year, is now slated to be sold or given away, according to Doocy.

As of Friday, the vehicle, sporting Florida tags, remains parked on West Executive Drive near the White House.

Musk’s vocal opposition to the reconciliation bill, which he reiterated on Tuesday by saying he “just can’t stand it anymore,” has drawn a clear line in the sand.

As this public clash unfolds, all eyes are on whether any potential talks can cool the heated exchange between two of America’s most prominent figures.
