Homan has been a staunch defender of President Trump’s immigration policy. He isn’t playing around.

And now Tom Homan silenced Democrats with a beatdown they won’t forget anytime soon.

Tom Homan Defends Targeted ICE Surge in Minnesota

Border Czar Tom Homan appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday to strongly back ICE’s intensified enforcement operations in Minnesota, where federal authorities now estimate that up to half of the Somali migrant population may be in the country on fraudulent paperwork. Homan emphasized that law-abiding Americans and legal residents have zero reason to worry as agents step up removals in the state.

“There’s a large illegal Somali community there. There’s an illegal alien community there. If you’re a US citizen, you know, you have nothing to fear,” Homan told CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday.

“…Because they’re [Minneapolis] a sanctuary city, we got to send more resources there to flood the zone. Because it takes a whole team to find somebody in the community.”

Backdrop: Billion-Dollar Fraud and Presidential Outrage

The renewed push follows President Trump’s fiery condemnation last week of widespread fraud within Minnesota’s Somali community after details emerged of a staggering $1 billion taxpayer-funded aid scandal.

The Twin Cities region is home to America’s largest Somali population, and dozens of individuals—predominantly from that community—have already been indicted for setting up sham nonprofits that claimed to feed needy children while pocketing the money instead.

“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country,” Trump seethed during a cabinet meeting last week. “Their country is no good for a reason. Your country stinks and we don’t want them in our country.”

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told Fox News the investigation has barely begun: “We believe that the Somali fraud operation in Minnesota is the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars, through welfare fraud, in American history,” Miller told Fox News’ “Hannity” last week.

“And we believe that what we are going to uncover is going to shock the American people.”

Homan Pushes Back on Critics, Stresses Rule of Law

Facing criticism from the left and even some Republicans who called the raids overly aggressive, Homan remained unflinching. He told CNN the administration is laser-focused on public-safety threats but will remove every illegal immigrant encountered during operations.

When host Dana Bash aired a clip of a U.S. citizen briefly detained until agents found her driver’s license, Homan calmly explained the realities of street-level enforcement: “I can’t tell how you many times an illegal alien claimed to be a U.S. citizen. It happens all the time. But it’s getting back to what I just said, reasonable suspicion,” Homan explained.

“As soon as that questioning is over, if they’re a U.S. citizen, they will be released. It takes probable cause to arrest somebody and actually transport and take them into custody.”

Homan made clear that protecting American communities and restoring integrity to the immigration system remain the administration’s top priorities.
