Ocasio-Cortez is about as radical as they get in the Democrat Party. Her stances on nearly everything are the opposite of what Americans need.
But Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez didn’t hold back in her latest assessment of Joe Biden.
With the 2024 presidential election coming up, Democrats are panicking at the idea of former President Donald Trump possibly winning a second term.
But Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is confident Democrats have picked the right man to take him down: President Joe Biden.
While appearing on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” host Kristen Welker asked AOC about the fact that Biden isn’t polling very well against Trump.
The congresswoman responded by referencing Biden’s strong showing in the Democrat primary in New Hampshire.
“I think what we have right now, what we’ve seen in New Hampshire, he is virtually the nominee of the party. His turnout in New Hampshire is actually not something to ignore,” Ocasio-Cortez said.
“We saw, from a write-in campaign, remember, President Biden wasn’t even on the ballot in New Hampshire, he won overwhelmingly with turnout that even exceeded Obama’s 2012 turnout when Obama was on the ballot. And so, there are quite a few indicators in his strength in New Hampshire.”
“We will see what happens in South Carolina and, of course, when we get to important primaries like Michigan.”
Welker then asked AOC if President Biden was the best Democrats could offer as the party’s nominee to face Trump.
Ocasio-Cortez responded by saying “Yes” and that he is “the strongest nominee” the Left could have.
“I think we can certainly do more to be advancing our vision,” she continued.
“And I believe that we have a strong vision that we can run on. You know I think – and – and for what it’s worth, the president has said, ‘If you give me the House, and if you give me the Senate and reelect me to the presidency, we will codify abortion rights and the right to choose in this country. We’ll codify reproductive rights.’ I think we can do more.”
It’s honestly a little surprising to see AOC this confident in Biden.
Members of her own group in the House, the “Squad,” aren’t so keen on the president at the moment.
Squad member, Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) has called out Biden’s support of Israel during its war with Hamas and has demanded that he call for a ceasefire in the region.
So the fact that Ocasio-Cortez is so gung ho on Biden at the moment is something that may take some Democrats by surprise.
