We all know the southern border is a mess. But the latest discovery is downright scary.
And Border Patrol uncovered this disturbing reality that is spinning heads.
Eight foreign nationals suspected of having ties to ISIS were reportedly apprehended in several places across the United States in recent days after unlawfully entering the country through the southern border.
The New York Post, which broke the story, quoted anonymous “ICE sources,” stating that “part of the investigation featured a wiretap which revealed one of the now-arrested individuals was talking about bombs.”
At least two of the eight suspects entered the United States last spring, with one of them claiming asylum through the Border Patrol app (CBP One), according to NBC.
Critics and immigration hawks claim that President Joe Biden’s administration created the app to expedite the mass importation of illegal aliens who come to the United States primarily for economic reasons and abuse the asylum system by claiming credible fear for their safety back home, which protects them from deportation.
ICE agents made the arrests over the weekend in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.
According to NBC News, all eight males were from Tajikistan. According to the Post, at least six of those arrested were Russian nationals.
Following intelligence of a possible terrorist threat to the United States from central Europe, the individuals were reportedly under observation by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force, according to NBC News.
“Over the last few days, ICE agents arrested several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities,” the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement.
“The actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces,” the statement continued.
“The individuals arrested are detained in ICE custody pending removal proceedings. As the FBI and DHS have recently described in public and partner bulletins, the U.S. has been in a heightened threat environment. The FBI and DHS will continue working around the clock with our partners to identify, investigate, and disrupt potential threats to national security.”
Federal border officials stated that the suspects were vetted at the border and that no red flags were raised when they were tested against existing databases. They claim that further intelligence revealed that the men were involved in terrorism.
This is not the first time that terrorists from around the world have crossed the southern border under Biden’s watch.
Examples include an ISIS terrorist from Uzbekistan, a Hizb-e-Islami (HIG) terrorist, and an Al-Shabaab terrorist.
The terrorist threat to the United States has increased as a direct result of Biden’s pullout from Afghanistan in 2021.
Since then, Islamic terrorists from around the world have regrouped in Afghanistan to reestablish their organizations, and the United States has few alternatives for surveilling and disrupting their networks.
But remember, the Left would have you believe Trump made the world come crashing down.
