Democrats swore that Joe Biden’s Presidency would be “scandal-free.” That’s turned out to be a flat-out lie.
And Biden’s lawyers have been hit with a jaw-dropping ethics violation.
The president of the United States, Joe Biden, now has a long list of issues stemming from the growing classified papers crisis, according to a government watchdog group.
The President improperly stored secret papers during his term as vice president in his office at a think group sponsored by China and at his Delaware home.
Biden’s attorneys were the subject of an ethical complaint made by Protect the Public’s Trust (PPT) to the Office of Government Ethics at the White House Counsel’s office.
“The American public will not tolerate a two-tiered system of justice – with well-connected insiders subject to a lower standard of scrutiny than the normal citizen,” PPT Director Mike Chamberlain said in a statement to Fox News.
After dropping the hammer on former President Donald Trump for allegedly stealing confidential data for his own purposes, Attorney General Merrick Garland’s Justice Department made startling concessions to the White House.
The Justice Department is under fire for allowing White House attorneys to join agents as they collected the sensitive materials from Biden’s Delaware residence.
According to PPT’s ethics complaint, “senior White House lawyers, including Special Counsel to the President Richard Sauber, may have inappropriately used taxpayer resources to personally benefit Joe Biden.”
One of the attorneys who accompanied Justice Department officials as they gathered the top-secret materials was Sauber.
The complaint added, “We further believe that the White House Counsel’s Office’s apparent representation of Mr. Biden in this matter creates an untenable conflict of interest for that office.”
“The result, intended or not, could be to reduce transparency into the mishandling of state secrets and foreclose disclosure of communications between White House Counsel staff while acting on behalf of Joe Biden in his capacity as a citizen facing the prospect of criminal prosecution.”
Potential witnesses in the President’s criminal probe may be Joe Biden’s attorneys.
Mike Chamberlain, the director of PPT, criticized Biden for undermining any remaining public confidence in the President’s handling of the controversy with the secret information.
President Biden promised to lead the “most moral and open administration in history,” according to Chamberlain.
“If the White House compounded a scandal involving possible mishandling of classified documents by improperly using taxpayer resources for his personal benefit and putting White House attorneys in positions that created conflicts of interest, we could be witnessing a serious betrayal of the public’s already-plummeting trust.”
To oversee the White House’s response to inquiries made by the newly elected Republican majority in the House, Sauber was appointed in December.
Richard Sauber is currently embroiled in a scandal of his own for allegedly hindering the probe into Joe Biden.
The idea that Joe Biden’s tenure has been scandal-free is laughable, for sure.
And it only seems to be getting worse.
