Schumer is like most radical Leftists. A liar who isn’t afraid of misleading the public.
And Chuck Schumer was caught lying on live TV about this scary health crisis.
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer adamantly denied accusations that Democrats misled the public about President Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities, instead championing the 82-year-old president’s achievements during his tenure.
Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday, Schumer, 74, pushed back on claims that top Democrats had downplayed concerns about Biden’s mental sharpness, while delicately steering away from speculating on whether the outgoing president could have managed another four years in office.
“Look, we didn’t,” Schumer (D-NY) said when asked about Americans who believed Democrats had not been transparent about Biden’s mental state.
“Let’s look at President Biden. He’s had an amazing record. The legislation we passed, one of the most significant groups of legislation since the New Deal, since Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society, putting in 235 judges — a record,” Schumer emphasized.
“He’s a patriot. He’s a great guy. And when he stepped down, he did it on his own because he thought it was better, not only for the Democratic Party but for America. We should all salute him.”
For years, Democrats have dismissed doubts surrounding Biden’s age and mental acuity. Last February, Schumer dismissed concerns about Biden’s cognitive abilities, labeling them as “right-wing propaganda.” Similarly, the White House has pushed back against viral clips showcasing Biden’s gaffes, denouncing them as “cheap fakes.”
However, Biden’s faltering performance during a June debate against President-elect Donald Trump ignited widespread calls within his party for him to step aside. According to reports from ABC News, Schumer privately urged Biden to consider stepping down, though he has kept very quiet about their discussions.
When pressed Sunday about whether Biden could have successfully served another term, Schumer avoided a direct answer. “I’m not going to speculate. As I said, I think his record is a stellar one, and he’ll go down in history as a really outstanding president,” he said.
Had Biden secured re-election and completed a second term, he would have been 86-years-old upon its conclusion, cementing his status as the oldest sitting president in U.S. history. President-elect Donald Trump, set to assume office in January, will surpass Biden as the oldest president by several months if he serves a full four-year term.
Reflecting on the Democrats’ disappointing electoral performance last November, Schumer admitted his party had room for improvement.
“We talked about the mechanics of the legislation and the details of the legislation, and we really didn’t show the kind of empathy and concern to average — or show enough of it — to average working families who didn’t realize how much we had done and how much we care for them,” Schumer acknowledged.
Despite the setback, Schumer highlighted so-called key legislative achievements under Democratic leadership, including infrastructure investments and semiconductor funding, which were enacted during Biden’s first two years in office when Democrats held control of the presidency, House, and Senate.
“So what we’re going to do is spend a lot of time talking to working families,” Schumer added, signaling an alleged shift in strategy for the party moving forward.
Looking ahead, one of the Senate’s initial tasks will be to deliberate on President-elect Trump’s cabinet nominations. Schumer has refrained from committing to supporting any of Trump’s picks, stressing the importance of a thorough vetting process.
“I’m waiting for this process, this reasonable process that we’ve asked for, to unfold. Thorough background checks, hearings, and votes,” Schumer explained.
