The Left can’t handle the idea of not winning the presidency in November. That’s why they’ll use every trick in the book to try and secure a victory.
And Democrats launch a brutal attack on this presidential candidate.
President Joe Biden does not have an easy path to a second presidential term.
He’s likely going to have to face former President Donald Trump in a rematch of the 2020 election.
But before he gets there, he’s going to need to ward off Democratic challenger Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn) who is running for president as well.
Phillips believes that Biden should pass the torch to a member of the younger generation, like himself, who he feels is more equipped to beat Trump in November.
However, not every Democrat is on board with this and on his side, something that Phillips has learned the hard way.
Last Wednesday, Phillips was accused by Campaign for Accountability, a Leftist watchdog group, for his illegal coordination with the super PAC Pass the Torch USA Inc.
Campaign for Accountability filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) to investigate the super PAC and Phillips’ campaign. Steve Schmidt, a former Republican strategist, is also listed in the complaint for allegedly violating election laws.
The complaint filed to the FEC argues that Schmidt coordinated illegally with the Phillips’ campaign after leaving his job there to form Pass the Torch USA Inc.
“Candidates and their committees cannot coordinate strategy with super PACs. When the architect of the Phillip’s campaign suddenly moves over to lead a super PAC supporting Phillip’s candidacy the moment the ink on the blueprint is dry, the coordination is clear,” Campaign for Accountability’s executive director Michelle Kuppersmith said.
The Dean Phillips campaign referred to the allegations as “baseless.”
“The complaint is baseless and does not allege a single specific example of coordination,” a spokesman for the campaign said to Fox News Digital.
“All it takes is one look at our paid TV ads to see how different the strategies of these two entities are. Regardless, we can say without question that the campaign has at all times complied with the law and has not engaged in any coordination with Pass the Torch, Steve Schmidt or any other party.”
The watchdog group also implied that Pass the Torch put out an ad that used a similar theme from the Phillips’ campaign, implying that illegal coordination was the reason for the development of the ad.
“If the communications by Pass the Torch had been created, produced or distributed after substantial discussions between Schmidt and Phillips, it would constitute a prohibited coordinated communication,” Campaign for Accountability said.
“The FEC should immediately investigate whether Schmidt, Pass the Torch, and Dean 24 violated the law and, if so, seek appropriate sanctions,” Kuppersmith added.
Dean Phillips is about to find out just how many Democrats are against his campaign.
And he’ll also find out that no matter how hard he tries, America is headed for a collision course of Biden vs. Trump on election day.
