Donald Trump raised eyebrows after making this confession about Biden

Trump and President Biden have exchanged blows over the years. No love has been lost between the two.

But Donald Trump raised eyebrows after making this confession about Biden.

Former President Trump is expected to rematch Joe Biden in 2024 for the presidency, based on current polls.

Republicans believe that at 80 years old, Biden is too old to hold office, let alone run for a second term.

But Trump is singing a different tune about President Biden.

“I have many friends who are in their 80s. I have friends, Bernie Marcus, that are in their 90s, and they’re sharp as a tack” Donald Trump said in an interview with Megyn Kelly.

“Not old. He’s [Biden] incompetent.”

In the interview, Megyn Kelly referred to an Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll that showed 77% of Americans believe Joe Biden is too old for another term.

“Age is interesting because some people are very sharp and some people do lose it – but you lose it at 40 and 50,” Trump said.

“He’s not too old at all. He’s grossly incompetent.”

It’s interesting to see Donald Trump brush off the age factor when criticizing Joe Biden.

At 77, Trump is only a few years younger than Biden, so bringing up how old the President is would only unleash similar critiques on himself.

“You look at some of the great world leaders – they were in their 80s. They were phenomenal in their 80s,” Trump continued.

“There’s a great wisdom if you’re not in a position like [Biden], but if you go back 25 years, he wasn’t the sharpest tack, either.”

Other Republican candidates for president, like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, aren’t abandoning the attacks on Joe Biden’s age.

“The presidency is not a job for someone that’s 80 years old…You’re talking about a job where you need to give it 100%. We need an energetic president,” DeSantis said in an interview with CBS News.

Trump’s incompetency argument against Joe Biden is likely a tactic that will help distract voters from the fact that he himself is pushing 80.

It’s a tactic that has hopes of working, as Donald Trump has clearly shown he is more poised and competent than Biden.
