During the State of the Union address that had the nation buzzing, President Donald Trump didn’t hold back when he tore into the massive fraud schemes tied to the Somali community in Minnesota. He painted a vivid picture of how these scandals are draining hardworking Americans dry, and the crowd erupted in agreement—except for many Democrats, including Ilhan Omar.
Trump zeroed in on Minnesota as ground zero for this outrageous theft. “When it comes to the corruption that has plundered, really, it’s plundering America, there’s been no more stunning example than Minnesota where members of the Somali community have pillaged an estimated $19 billion dollars from the American taxpayer,” the president declared, his words cutting through the chamber like a knife.

“So tonight, although we started four months ago, I am officially announcing the war on fraud to be led by our great Vice President JD Vance. He’ll get it done. We were able to find enough of that fraud. We will actually have a balanced budget overnight. It will go very quickly. That’s the kind of money you’re talking about. We’ll balance our budget,” the president stated.
Trump connected the dots between this domestic rip-off and the dangers of lax immigration policies. He warned that bringing in people from chaotic regions invites trouble straight to our doorstep, hitting everyday folks where it hurts most.
“The Somali pirates who ransacked Minnesota remind us that there are large parts of the world where bribery, corruption, and lawlessness are the norm, not the exception. Importing these cultures through unrestricted immigration and open borders brings us problems, right here to the USA. And it is the American people who pay the price in higher medical bills, car insurance rates, rent, taxes, and perhaps most importantly, crime,” President Trump said.
As Trump laid out these hard truths, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) couldn’t contain herself. Per Wall Street Journal reporter Olivia Beavers, Omar yelled from her seat, branding the president a liar in a desperate attempt to deflect.
