The Left is using their pals in the media to attack the Trump/Vance campaign. They’re hoping they can sway the public to think negatively about the GOP presidential ticket.
And JD Vance is speechless after this mainstream media outlet spread a heinous lie about him.
A spokesperson for Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance sharply criticized The Associated Press (AP) for publishing a headline on Thursday that seemingly downplayed Vance’s concerns about school shootings, implying he had dismissed them as a “fact of life.”
In an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital, Vance’s representative, William Martin, accused the AP of intentionally misrepresenting the senator’s stance for political gain.
“This is yet another case of the fake news media brazenly lying about a Republican politician. Senator Vance said exactly the opposite of what the Associated Press claimed. It should come as no surprise that the AP lost any and all credibility it had years ago, because they will lie about literally anything in order prop up the Democrats. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has called for all police officers to be removed from schools, putting children all over America at risk. It’s yet another example of how Kamala Harris’s weak, failed, and dangerously liberal agenda makes her unfit for office,” Martin said.
The controversy stems from a comment Vance made during a Phoenix rally, referencing a recent mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Barrow County, Georgia.
“I don’t like that this is a fact of life,” Vance remarked. “But if you are a psycho and you want to make headlines, you realize that our schools are soft targets. And we have got to bolster security at our schools. We’ve got to bolster security, so if a psycho wants to walk through the front door and k*ll a bunch of children, they’re not able.”
The AP, however, originally reported the story with the headline, “JD Vance says school shootings are a ‘fact of life,’ calls for better security.” This headline and a corresponding post on X (formerly Twitter) suggested a much more indifferent tone than what Vance’s full comment revealed.
The AP deleted their trash tweet about @JDVance after it was about to receive a nuclear community note.

They’ve since reposted it here: pic.twitter.com/w35o8Fw8Du
Following backlash, a proposed Community Note on X clarified the context: “Misleading headline: The full quote is, ‘I don’t like that this is a fact of life.'”
Responding to the outcry, the AP later amended the headline and social media post. The revised version now reads, “JD Vance says he laments that school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and calls for better security.”
The AP also explained their decision to update the story, stating, “This post replaces an earlier post that was deleted to add context to the partial quote from Vance.”
Meanwhile, the Harris-Walz 2024 campaign used the incident to criticize Vance, aligning him with former President Trump. In a statement, campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa said, “Yesterday, Vice President Harris said ‘it doesn’t have to be this way’ in response to another senseless school shooting. Donald Trump and JD Vance think school shootings are a ‘fact of life’ and ‘we have to get over it.’”
Moussa continued, “Vice President Harris and Governor Walz know we can take action to keep our children safe and keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Donald Trump and JD Vance will always choose the NRA and gun lobby over our children. That is the choice in this election.”
Vice President Harris echoed this sentiment on X, declaring, “School shootings are not just a fact of life. It doesn’t have to be this way. We can take action to protect our children—and we will.”
In response, Vance accused Harris of distorting his words for political purposes, accusing her of spreading “lies about what I said.”
Kamala wants to take security out of our schools instead of protecting our children. Instead of addressing her own failures, she lies about what I said.

More desperation from the biggest fraud in American politics. https://t.co/KNOwOtpcLx
Vance is correct in calling out Harris’s deceitful post on X as a desperate attempt to attack him. If there’s one thing the Harris/Walz campaign seems to do well, it’s lie out of desperation.
That’s the only way they can try and sway voters to joining their cause. And the more they’re called out on it, the less that strategy will work.
