Joe Biden has been one of the worst U.S. presidents in modern history. He’s constantly finding ways to embarrass himself and the country.
And President Biden’s latest humiliating mistake has the White House erupting in chaos.
President Biden made a startling statement on Monday, seemingly claiming that he had “spoken to” an American hostage recently found dead in a Hamas tunnel over the weekend. The comment, which follows a series of verbal missteps in recent months, came during an interaction with reporters when the 81-year-old president was asked if he had a message for the families of six hostages discovered by the Israel Defense Forces.
Among the hostages was Hersh Goldberg-Polin, an Israeli American who had been held captive for nearly 11 months after being abducted from a music festival on October 7. Biden responded to the question by saying, “I’ve spoken to the American hostage,” apparently referencing Goldberg-Polin.
He then clarified, “I spoke to his mom and dad, and we’re not giving up. We’re going to continue to push as hard as we can.”
The White House did not immediately clarify which hostage Biden had been referring to in his remarks. However, it is known that the president spoke with Goldberg-Polin’s family the previous day, after their son was identified as one of the hostages found dead.
In a statement released afterward, Biden expressed his sorrow and anger, writing, “I am devastated and outraged… Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.”
The president also shared that he had come to know Goldberg-Polin’s parents, Jon and Rachel, describing them as “courageous, wise, and steadfast” in the face of unimaginable grief. He added that they had been relentless advocates not only for their son but for all hostages still held in captivity. “I admire them and grieve with them more deeply than words can express,” Biden said, urging Americans to hold the family in their prayers.
As Israel continues to grapple with the aftermath of the deadly Hamas attacks on October 7, tensions are running high. More than 250 individuals were taken hostage during the assaults and subsequent abductions.
While Israel successfully negotiated the return of 105 hostages through a prisoner exchange in November, a little over 100 remain in Gaza under Hamas’ control.
In his remarks to reporters, Biden also expressed frustration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, suggesting that Israel’s leader was not doing enough to secure a comprehensive hostage deal. The president expressed hope that an agreement with Hamas would be reached soon.
Returning to Washington after a two-week vacation in California and Delaware, Biden convened with his national security team on Monday to address the ongoing Israel hostage crisis. Later that same day, he was expected to attend a campaign event in Pittsburgh alongside Vice President Kamala Harris.
President Biden’s Bad Habit
President Joe Biden has an awful habit of fumbling his words in such a way that either embarrass him or the United States.
In this case, his words were insensitive to the family of Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Not only that, but the gaffe showed just how much the president is suffering from cognitive decline.
Ever since Biden became the commander-in-chief, his presidency has been marked by repeated instances of either tripping over or up something or tripping over his words.
And while many Republicans pointed out that Biden’s poor mental fitness are the reason for his many gaffes, it wasn’t until about a month ago that Democrats came to that conclusion as well when they practically forced him to drop out of the presidential election.
Up until then, the Left tried to gaslight Americans into believing that Joe Biden is perfectly fine mentally and physically.
But as well all know, that couldn’t have been further from the truth.
