DeSantis is in second place in the Republican primary polls. But those polls are about to be tossed out the window.
And Ron DeSantis just received massive news that could change the 2024 election for good.
The Iowa caucuses are at the forefront of presidential candidates’ minds right now since they are coming up in just a few months.
Florida Governor and Republican candidate for president, Ron DeSantis has a little more of a reason to be excited for the caucuses after a recent announcement was made.
Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds (R) is reportedly set to endorse DeSantis as the Republican nominee for president in 2024, according to the Washington Examiner.

As reported by the Des Moines Register, DeSantis has mentioned in the past that her endorsement could “have a really significant impact” on his campaign.
“I think what she’s been able to do in Iowas has really been a model for how people should govern,” the Florida governor said.
“Clearly, I think she could have a really significant impact. And I think any candidate running would be a fool not to want to have the support of Reynolds.”
This is a huge endorsement for DeSantis, who has seen former President Donald Trump rake in big-name endorsements for months now.
DeSantis even lost out on a hefty endorsement out of his own state of Florida when Sen. Rick Scott pledged his support for Trump last week.
But now as the third GOP debate approaches this week, DeSantis will have a little momentum to work with.
And that momentum is crucial as he tries to climb out of a large hole in the primary polls.
Donald Trump’s campaign however, is not impressed with Reynolds’ endorsement, and frankly thinks it’s not much for DeSantis to be excited about.
“Her endorsement will not make any difference in this race. In a poll conducted about the impact of a Reynolds endorsement, 72% of respondents replied that it would not affect how they vote,” the Trump campaign said.
“President Trump is the undisputed leader of the Republican Party and that’s why he not only leads every single Iowa poll by significant margins but also beats Crooked Joe Biden in the general.”
In the past, many Iowa governors haven’t endorsed a candidate before the caucuses.
So this makes Governor Reynolds’ endorsement of DeSantis an even bigger deal.
And regardless of what the Trump campaign says, it’s still a major benefit for Ron DeSantis to secure any sort of boost as the Republican primary race tightens.
