Secret Service director turned white as a ghost after receiving latest threat

Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle

The Secret Service has a lot of questions to answer after Trump’s near assassination. There’s still so many pieces of the puzzle that have yet to be put together.

And the director of Secret Service turned white as a ghost after receiving this latest threat.

Republican lawmakers are intensifying their efforts to force Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle to resign in the wake of an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

The incident, which occurred during a Trump campaign rally in Pennsylvania, has sparked outrage among Republicans on Capitol Hill, who cite a lack of accountability and discipline within the Secret Service.

The aftermath of Saturday’s shocking event has seen Republicans threaten various measures, including defunding Cheatle’s salary and launching independent investigations.

Congressional hearings on the matter are already being scheduled, with Cheatle standing firm in her position.

In her first interview since the assassination attempt, Cheatle told ABC News on Monday, “the buck stops with me,” yet maintained she would not resign.

Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) has been particularly vocal, threatening to reduce Cheatle’s salary to $1 if she refuses to step down. “Cheatle needs to resign. If not, I’m going to utilize the Holman Rule to take her salary down to $1 and ask her to leave,” Mills told Real America’s Voice host Charlie Kirk outside the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee.

Mills also revealed he had texted Speaker Johnson, requesting to lead a J-13 commission for an independent investigation, separate from the FBI.

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) echoed Mills’ sentiment by introducing a bill on Monday evening to withhold all federal funding for Cheatle’s salary. “I’ve introduced legislation to hold Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle accountable for the agency’s incompetence and failure to protect President Trump during the Butler, Pennsylvania campaign rally,” Boebert stated in a post on X.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), a close ally of Trump, has been a prominent figure in the push for Cheatle’s resignation. Greene reiterated her call for Cheatle’s resignation on Tuesday morning in an interview shared on social media. “The DEI hire Secret Service Director should RESIGN after Saturday’s catastrophic failure,” Greene said.

She also held Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas accountable, pointing to her previous attempt to impeach him.

Billionaire tech investor Elon Musk joined the chorus, calling for the resignation of both Cheatle and the lead agent in charge of Trump’s detail.

“The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign,” Musk posted on X hours after the incident.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) expanded the call for resignations to include Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. “The head of Secret Service should resign. So should the head of DHS,” Cruz posted on X.

Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) described the assassination attempt as the “worst security failure for a president since JFK,” referencing the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
