There’s no doubt that this presidential race is going to be vicious. But this crosses a line.
And a sudden illegal attack on the Trump campaign throws Washington, D.C. into complete hysteria.
Former President Trump’s campaign confirmed on Saturday that its internal communications were hacked, marking yet another instance where foreign adversaries are targeting the leader who once stood up to them with unwavering resolve.
It’s no surprise that a liberal outlet like Politico was quick to reach out to the Trump campaign after getting its hands on these stolen documents.
“These documents were obtained illegally from foreign sources hostile to the United States, intended to interfere with the 2024 election and sow chaos throughout our Democratic process,” stated Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign’s communications director.
Cheung went on to reveal a chilling detail:
“On Friday, a new report from Microsoft found that Iranian hackers broke into the account of a ‘high ranking official’ on the U.S. presidential campaign in June 2024, which coincides with the close timing of President Trump’s selection of a Vice Presidential nominee.”
The timing here isn’t just suspicious—it’s a blatant attack. Cheung pointed out that this alleged Iranian hack followed “recent reports of an Iranian plot to assassinate President Trump around the same time as the Butler, PA tragedy.”
It’s clear why Iran would go to such lengths.
“The Iranians know that President Trump will stop their reign of terror just like he did in his first four years in the White House,” Cheung asserted.
He also issued a stern warning to the media: “Any media or news outlet reprinting documents or internal communications are doing the bidding of America’s enemies and doing exactly what they want.”
The stolen documents included a 271-page dossier on Trump’s eventual running mate, Senator JD Vance, R-Ohio, put together by the campaign back in February.
It detailed Vance’s past positions, statements, and criticisms of Trump in a section labeled “POTENTIAL VULNERABILITIES.”
While the Trump campaign hasn’t confirmed if they’ve contacted law enforcement about the hack, one thing is clear: foreign interference is once again attempting to undermine the very foundations of American democracy.
Politico received these documents from someone using the alias “Robert” and an anonymous AOL account, with emails starting on July 22, just days after the Republican National Convention concluded and Trump announced Vance as his running mate.
When pressed on how these documents were obtained, “Robert” cryptically warned, “I suggest you don’t be curious about where I got them from… Any answer to this question will compromise me and also legally restricts you from publishing them.”
“Robert” also claimed to have documents on Senator Marco Rubio, R-Fla., another potential VP pick, along with a range of materials from Trump’s legal and court proceedings to internal campaign discussions.
The Democratic Party and Hillary Clinton’s campaign experienced similar hacking during the 2016 election, with the U.S. attributing the breach to Russia, and some of the stolen documents being released by WikiLeaks.
Now, in 2024, the attacks continue, targeting the one leader who has proven he won’t back down from defending America.
