Trump is public enemy number one for the hosts of The View. They hate him more than pretty much anyone.
But now The View has offered the rare support of Donald Trump in an earth shattering moment live on air.
In a surprising moment on The View, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin made a bold pledge: she would wear a MAGA hat for an entire episode if President-elect Donald Trump successfully negotiates the release of hostages held by Hamas.
Griffin’s comment came during a heated discussion among the panelists about Trump’s recent appearance at the reopening of the Notre Dame Cathedral in France. The historic cathedral, which suffered a devastating fire in 2019, hosted its first Mass in nearly five years on Sunday.
The event marked a significant milestone, with a high-profile guest list that included Trump, First Lady Jill Biden, and Prince William.
Photos of Trump and Jill Biden exchanging pleasantries at the event quickly went viral, sparking debates about the optics of civility in politically charged times.
Trump seized the opportunity to promote his new fragrance line with one of the viral photos. In a Truth Social post, he unveiled his brand, writing: “Here are my new Trump Perfumes & Colognes! I call them Fight, Fight, Fight, because they represent us WINNING. A fragrance your enemies can’t resist.”
Trump just used Jill Biden’s smile to promote his new cologne.

On The View, the co-hosts were divided over the significance of the images and their broader implications. Sara Haines urged caution, suggesting that photos might not tell the full story. “There are two pictures I pulled of the same thing where you look – it’s not quite as cordial looking, there might be more going on,” she observed.
Griffin, however, took a more optimistic view, arguing that the images sent an important message of unity on the world stage. “It’s important that not just America’s allies are watching, but America’s adversaries are watching that moment,” she said.
Griffin highlighted the significance of the peaceful transition of power and expressed hope that Trump’s international engagements, including discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, could signal a commitment to critical global issues like the war in Ukraine.
But Griffin’s most controversial moment came when she proposed her now-infamous MAGA hat challenge.
“If he gets the Israeli hostages out, I promise I will wear a MAGA hat for one day on the show and say, ‘Thank you for doing it,’” she said, emphasizing her willingness to acknowledge achievements where due.
The suggestion did not sit well with some of her co-hosts. “Please don’t do that,” one responded, clearly irritated.
Griffin laughed off the reaction, joking, “She’ll knock it off my head,” before doubling down on her belief in recognizing positive actions.
“You have to be able to cheer for wins when they happen, and call out relentlessly the wrongdoing,” she added.

Griffin’s history with Trump adds a layer of complexity to her remarks. As the former White House director of strategic communications during Trump’s first administration, she has since become one of his most vocal critics on The View, frequently warning of the dangers she believes he poses to the country.
Despite her criticisms, Griffin’s challenge signals a rare willingness to give credit where it is due, albeit with a symbolic and polarizing twist.
