The Left never learns. They just keep pushing the same playbook.
And now this one Democrat Senate hopeful is laughably incompetent.
Minnesota Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan’s Radical Record Draws Scrutiny in Senate Bid
Minnesota’s Democratic Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan, a far-left figure backed by progressives like Elizabeth Warren, is campaigning for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by retiring Democrat Tina Smith, facing off against more moderate Rep. Angie Craig in what has become a heated intraparty battle.
Flanagan’s hardline positions have come under fire, particularly her role in turning Minnesota into a “trans refuge” state through laws that shield access to gender-altering procedures for minors, even from out-of-state restrictions.
She proudly signed the “Trans Refuge Bill” in 2023 while wearing a “Protect Trans Kids” shirt featuring a dagger graphic, and has declared, “Let’s be clear: this is life-affirming and life-saving health care.”
Flanagan has also insisted, “When our children tell us who they are, it is our job as grown-ups to listen and to believe them. That’s what it means to be a good parent.”
Critics argue these policies prioritize ideology over parental rights and child protection, potentially enabling irreversible decisions for youth.
Ties to Immigrant Communities Amid Fraud Allegations
Flanagan’s outreach to Minnesota’s Somali population has intensified, including a recent viral video where she appeared at a Somali market wearing a hijab-style head covering and pledged unwavering support.
“I just want to encourage the community to know that we’re with you; we’ve got your back,” Flanagan said.
This comes as federal probes expose massive welfare fraud under the Walz-Flanagan administration, with schemes allegedly siphoning billions in taxpayer funds—some reportedly linked to terrorist groups like Al-Shabaab.
U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson described the scandals as “schemes stacked upon schemes, draining resources meant for those in need,” while Trump advisor Stephen Miller called it potentially “the single greatest theft of taxpayer dollars, through welfare fraud, in American history.”
Flanagan’s defense of the community, including sharp attacks on President Trump for highlighting fraud concerns—labeling his comments “vile, racist”—has raised questions about priorities in a state grappling with fiscal mismanagement.
Sanctuary Approach Fuels Debate Over Accountability
Flanagan’s overall “sanctuary” philosophy—from immigration to gender policies—has painted her as a champion for progressive causes but drawn accusations of overlooking corruption and promoting controversial social experiments at taxpayer expense.
As the Senate primary heats up, her record highlights deepening divides within Minnesota Democrats between far-left activism and more centrist approaches, with voters weighing whether such positions align with broader state interests.
