The Left is turning on the president. They’re starting to wake up to his failed leadership.
And this top Democrat backstabbed Biden and joined forces with Donald Trump for this unbelievable reason.
Mayor Eric Adams Blasts Biden Administration, Pledges Cooperation with Trump Team on Deportations
New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) appears to be taking a sharp turn in his approach to the Biden administration’s handling of illegal immigration. During a Tuesday press conference, Adams criticized President Joe Biden over what he described as a record-breaking influx of illegal immigrants into the United States and signaled his willingness to work with President-elect Donald Trump’s administration to deport criminal illegal aliens.
Since January 2021, when Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris took office, New York City has been inundated with hundreds of thousands of migrants. Many have been drawn by the administration’s expansive Catch and Release policies at the U.S.-Mexico border, creating a significant strain on the city’s resources.
“The long-term impact of what we did to this city, you’re going to see it materialize in administrations in the future,” Adams said, addressing the toll he believes the Biden-Harris administration has taken on New York City. “They hurt the future of New York City. We didn’t invest in seniors the way we should have and young people … the crimes that we witnessed. This impacted our city and people don’t understand why are you fighting so hard on this. The federal government made me take $6.4 billion out … we all should be angry about what happened to this city under this administration.”
Billions Redirected from Critical Services
Adams presented visual data to emphasize the financial burden the city has faced. According to the mayor, $6.4 billion was redirected to support newly arrived migrants during Biden’s term. These funds, he argued, could have been allocated to critical initiatives such as enhancing the school system, providing subway passes for underprivileged youth, or increasing park and recreation staff.
One striking comparison Adams made was to the New York City Police Department’s (NYPD) annual budget. He claimed the money spent on migrants exceeded the NYPD’s yearly funding and suggested that with these resources, the city could have hired about 1,000 additional officers.
A New Approach to Deportations
Adams’ most substantial comments came when he expressed his intent to collaborate with Trump’s incoming border czar, Thomas Homan, to address criminal illegal aliens in New York City.
“Those who are here committing crimes, robberies, shooting at police officers, r*ping innocent people, have been a harm to our country,” Adams said. “I want to sit down and hear the plan on how we’re going to address them. Those are the people I am talking about. I would love to sit down with the border czar and hear his thoughts on how we’re going to address those who are harming our citizens.”
Calling Out Critics
When challenged on his support for deportations, Adams invoked past statements from prominent Democratic figures like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, who had also advocated for the deportation of violent criminal illegal aliens.
“I want you all to go back and Google Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. Google what they said about those who commit crimes in our city and … in our country. They said those who commit crimes need to get out right away — that was their position,” Adams stated.
Taking a bold stance against what he described as the pressures of cancel culture, Adams dared his critics to “cancel” him for prioritizing public safety.
“This is not a new position,” he said. “Because … in the era of cancel culture, no one’s afraid to be honest about the truth. Well, cancel me, because I’m going to protect the citizens of this city. And if you think you’re going to come into this city and harm our innocent New Yorkers, and innocent migrants and asylum seekers, this is not the mayor you want to be in the city under.”
Adams’ remarks reflect a notable shift in tone, setting the stage for potential collaboration with Trump’s administration on immigration enforcement.
His pointed criticism of the Biden administration and pledge to crack down on criminal activity highlight the challenges the city faces in navigating the illegal immigration crisis.
