The radical Left can no longer claim any moral high ground. They’ve lost the ability to lecture Americans on what’s right or wrong.

And this top Democrat just spat in the face of the victims of a tragedy by making these disgusting comments.

Congresswoman Omar Faces Criticism After D.C. Terror Attack Response

On Wednesday evening, a devastating attack outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., claimed the lives of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, two Israeli Embassy staff members who were soon to be engaged. The couple was attending a Jewish conference hosted by the American Jewish Committee when a gunman opened fire.

The FBI has labeled the incident a terror attack, prompting intense reactions from political figures and renewed scrutiny of Minnesota Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar due to her unhinged response.

Omar’s Brief Response Sparks Controversy

When approached by a reporter outside the Capitol Building on Thursday, Rep. Omar quickly dismissed questions about the attack, saying, “I’m going to go for now.” Watch:

Her curt response drew sharp criticism from White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during a Thursday press briefing. “It’s despicable and, frankly, we have seen a rise in antisemitic protests, of pro-Hamas protests, of terrorist sympathizers. We saw them on our college campuses and we’ve seen the Democratic Party turn a blind eye and in some cases actually embrace such antisemitic illegal behavior,” Leavitt stated. “The president has made it very clear that such hatred will have no place in our country.”

Later, Omar addressed the tragedy on X, posting, “I am appalled by the deadly shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum last night. Holding the victims, their families, and loved ones in my thoughts and prayers. Violence should have no place in our country.”

Israeli Official Points to Rising Tensions

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar identified the victims and described the attack as “a horrific terrorist attack,” per ABC News. He linked the violence to growing anti-Semitic sentiment, stating, “This is the direct result of toxic anti-Semitic incitement against Israel and Jews around the world that has been going on since the October 7th massacre. I have been worried for the past few months that something like this would happen. And it did.”

Omar’s History of Controversial Statements

This is not the first time Omar has faced backlash over her comments on sensitive issues. In 2021, she drew criticism from then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for a post on X that appeared to compare the United States and Israel to terrorist organizations. “We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity,” Omar wrote. “We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the US, Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan and the Taliban. I asked Secretary Blinken where people are supposed to go for justice.”

Pelosi responded, calling the comparison “false equivalencies” and stating, “Drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the US and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all.”

In another instance, during a 2019 speech at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) banquet, Omar referred to the 9/11 attacks as an event where “some people did something.” She added, “For far too long we have lived with the discomfort of being a second-class citizen and, frankly, I’m tired of it, and every single Muslim in this country should be tired of it. CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties.” In fact, CAIR was founded in 1994, not as a response to 9/11.

Nicholas Haros Jr., whose mother died in the 9/11 attacks, sharply criticized Omar’s remarks, saying, “Today I am here to respond to you, exactly who did what to whom. We know who and what was done, there’s no uncertainty about that.”

A Nation Grapples with Grief and Questions

The tragic deaths of Lischinsky and Milgrim have reignited discussions about rising anti-Semitism and political rhetoric in the United States. As the investigation into the attack continues, public figures like Omar face heightened scrutiny over their responses to such events, with critics arguing that her past statements and recent dismissal of questions reflect a troubling pattern. Meanwhile, the nation mourns the loss of two lives cut short in an act of violence that has shaken the capital.
