Top Leftists threaten to shut down the 2024 election for this insane reason

Radical Democrats on Capitol Hill won’t stop at nothing to defeat Donald Trump. They have a new scheme that should frighten everyone.

As these top Leftists threaten to shut down the 2024 election for this insane reason.

Top Democratic leaders in Congress are expressing uncertainty about whether they would certify the 2024 election results if former President Donald Trump emerges victorious, raising concerns about potential hypocrisy given their past criticisms of election challenges.

During an interview with Axios, Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), a prominent member of the House Oversight Committee and former January 6 committee member, revealed his hesitation. When asked about certifying a Trump victory, Raskin said he couldn’t commit, citing concerns about the integrity of the election process.

“If Trump won a free, fair, and honest election, then we would obviously accept it,” Raskin stated. However, he quickly added, “I definitely don’t assume that,” emphasizing his belief that Democrats do not engage in “election fraud and election fabrication.”

This stance is particularly striking, as Raskin previously challenged Trump’s electors in 2017, denying that Trump had legitimately won the 2016 election. His remarks suggest a growing unease among Democrats about what they perceive as the potential for irregularities or interference in a future Trump win.

A resurfaced video from February 2024 shows Raskin speculating that Congress might even invalidate a Trump victory, though he warned such an action could lead to “civil war.” Breitbart’s Joel Pollak noted that it was unclear whether Raskin was proposing an actual strategy or merely presenting a hypothetical scenario to criticize the Supreme Court’s involvement in election matters.

Other Democrats share Raskin’s reservations. House Rules Committee Ranking Member Jim McGovern (D-MA) echoed similar concerns, telling Axios that Democrats would evaluate the circumstances surrounding a potential Trump win. “We have to see how it all happens,” McGovern said, hinting at possible challenges to the outcome. McGovern, like Raskin, also objected to Trump’s electors in 2017.

Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), who previously objected to George W. Bush’s 2005 victory, also expressed doubts about certifying a Trump win. “We would have to, in any election… make sure that all the rules have been followed,” she said, questioning what “shenanigans” Trump might have planned.

Vice President Kamala Harris, meanwhile, has not publicly addressed whether she would support certifying a Trump victory. Her silence contrasts with her outspoken criticism of Republicans who objected to President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory.

This skepticism from Democrats could open them up to accusations of hypocrisy. For years, they have criticized Republicans as “election deniers” for questioning election outcomes. However, a pattern of Democrats challenging Republican victories is well-documented. According to the Republican National Committee, Democrats have disputed election outcomes more than 150 times, calling into question the legitimacy of U.S. elections for decades.

Prominent figures like Hillary Clinton, Barbara Lee (D-CA), and Maxine Waters (D-CA) have all cast doubt on Republican presidential victories. Even President Biden himself has expressed doubts about election outcomes. In both 2013 and 2016, Biden argued that Al Gore, not George W. Bush, should have won the 2000 election. Biden also agreed with the claim that Trump was an “illegitimate president” in 2019, maintaining that Trump’s 2016 win was unfair.

Beyond presidential elections, Democrats have labeled past elections as “stolen” or “fraudulent.” In 2002, Al Gore claimed that if every vote in Florida had been counted, he would have won the presidency in 2000. Hillary Clinton has repeatedly criticized the legitimacy of both the 2000 and 2016 elections, claiming in 2020 that the 2016 race was not conducted fairly.

Similarly, the 2004 election saw widespread skepticism from Democrats. Then-DNC Chairman Howard Dean voiced doubts about the fairness of Ohio’s election results, while Bernie Sanders (I-VT) raised concerns about the security of electronic voting machines used in the race.

In the aftermath of Trump’s 2016 victory, Democrats again questioned the results. Dozens of lawmakers boycotted his inauguration, and several House Democrats tried to object to the electoral votes.

Hillary Clinton later speculated in 2017 that she might question the legitimacy of the 2016 election, a stance she echoed in 2020.

More recently, Democrats have rallied behind Stacey Abrams, who claimed her 2018 loss in Georgia’s gubernatorial race was due to a “stolen” election. Leading Democrats, including Hillary Clinton, Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ), and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), have publicly supported Abrams’ assertion that she was unfairly deprived of votes.

But as the 2024 election approaches, this hesitation to commit to certifying results raises questions about how Democrats will handle a Trump victory and whether they will face the same criticisms they’ve directed at Republicans for years.
