Voters are eager to see Donald Trump and Kamala Harris debate. But Leftist aren’t so thrilled about the idea.
As this Trump/Harris debate update has the Democrat Party running for the hills.
After over a month of avoiding the media for an interview, Vice President Kamala Harris finally agreed to appear for an actual sit-down interview with CNN.
And while it seemed possible that Harris might never hold a press conference or talk to the media in an unscripted interview before the election, it also shouldn’t come as a surprise that her team fought hard to change the rules of the upcoming debate between herself and former President Donald Trump.
Trump could’ve easily caved into those new demands by Harris and her campaign, but he held strong, allowing for this latest debate update to emerge.
Trump Secures Debate Victory Over Harris as Rules Finalized for September Showdown
In a significant development leading up to next month’s presidential debate, Republican nominee Donald Trump appears to have secured a decisive agreement over the debate rules in his standoff with Democratic nominee, Vice President Kamala Harris.
The debate, which will be held on September 10th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is set to be broadcast live on ABC.
“I have reached an agreement with the Radical Left Democrats for a Debate with Comrade Kamala Harris,” Trump announced on Truth Social.
“It will be Broadcast Live on ABC FAKE NEWS, by far the nastiest and most unfair newscaster in the business, on Tuesday, September 10th, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.”
Trump also highlighted that the upcoming debate will adhere to the same rules as a previous CNN debate, with no allowance for candidate notes or external help.
“The Rules will be the same as the last CNN Debate, which seemed to work out well for everyone except, perhaps, Crooked Joe Biden,” he added. “The Debate will be ‘stand up,’ and Candidates cannot bring notes, or ‘cheat sheets.’ We have also been given assurance by ABC that this will be a ‘fair and equitable’ Debate, and that neither side will be given the questions in advance (No Donna Brazile!).”
A source familiar with the debate arrangements revealed to The Daily Wire that both candidates will have their microphones muted while the other is speaking, similar to the format used in the CNN debate.
This measure is designed to prevent interruptions, allowing each candidate an uninterrupted turn to speak.
The Harris campaign had reportedly been pushing for a different set of rules, advocating for live microphones for both candidates throughout the debate and a seated format that would allow the use of notes. This request has been a point of contention in the debate negotiations.
Senior Trump campaign adviser Jason Miller didn’t hold back in his criticism of Harris’ stance. “If Kamala Harris isn’t smart enough to repeat the messaging points her handlers want her to memorize, that’s their problem. This seems to be a pattern for the Harris campaign,” Miller said earlier this week.
“They won’t allow Harris to do interviews, they won’t allow her to do press conferences, and now they want to give her a cheat-sheet for the debate. My guess is that they’re looking for a way to get out of any debate with President Trump.”
In his Truth Social post, Trump also noted that Harris has yet to commit to the Fox News debate scheduled for September 4, though the network has reportedly agreed to keep the slot open should she decide to participate. Additionally, the status of a proposed NBC News debate remains undecided, with Harris not having confirmed her participation.
As the debate date approaches, all eyes will be looking to when Harris takes the stage alongside Trump for what promises to be an intense and high-stakes showdown.
