Donald Trump has one more term left in the Oval Office. But he believes his time isn’t up just yet at the end of it.

And Trump’s plan to stay in the White House for years to come has Democrats shaking in fear.

President-elect Donald Trump has hinted at the possibility of his family continuing his political legacy once his time in office comes to an end. This could even include one of his family members becoming president one day, which would allow for him to have access to the White House.

Speaking to Time magazine in an interview published Thursday, Trump suggested that his family “could be” the foundation of a future political dynasty.

“I think there could be, yeah,” he said when asked about the prospect. “I have some very competent members of my family. My kids are very competent.”

Trump singled out his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as Eric’s wife, Lara Trump, for their roles in bolstering his 2024 campaign. He noted their distinct strengths and contributions to the effort.

“I think [Don Jr. would] do well, especially in certain areas,” Trump said. “I think he’d do very well. I think he’s a very capable guy. Eric is very capable, and a very different type. Lara.”

Donald Trump Jr., who served on his father’s transition team and was a visible figure on the campaign trail, has previously expressed reluctance about entering politics directly. “I could never throw my hat in the ring or anything like that,” he told Axios in July, suggesting that a political partnership with Vice President-elect Sen. JD Vance is unlikely.

Trump had high praise for Lara Trump, Eric’s wife, describing her as “amazing” and highlighting her potential political future. Rumors have swirled that Trump may be encouraging Lara to pursue a Senate seat in Florida.

She recently stepped down from her role as co-chair of the Republican National Committee and has said she is open to being appointed to the Senate if Florida Governor Ron DeSantis selects her as a replacement for Secretary of State pick Marco Rubio.

“Look, she was the head of the Republican Party. She’s a young, a young woman, and she was the head of the Republican Party. And look at the job we did,” Trump said. “This cheating would have been breathtaking, breathtaking. And we, we, we got it down to a minimum. And they cheat, but we got it down to a minimum. They were very effective. The RNC was very, very effective.”

While Ivanka Trump, the eldest Trump daughter, has distanced herself from politics to focus on her family, her father suggested she has the potential to shine in the political arena.

“Ivanka would be, if she wanted to be, would be a superstar in politics. I think she, she, she’s a great person. I think she probably, she’s so family-oriented, Ivanka, and I understand that also it makes it more difficult. It makes it definitely more difficult,” he said.

The president-elect did not address his youngest son, Barron Trump, who is currently a student at New York University.

However, Barron has sparked interest among Trump supporters for his reported political curiosity. According to Trump, Barron played a role in advising him on podcast appearances during the 2024 campaign.

Reflecting on his family’s potential, Trump concluded, “They’re very capable people. Well, they have a name, which seems to be a very good name.”

As Donald Trump prepares to assume the presidency once more, speculation about the future of the Trump name in American politics continues to grow.

Whether the family becomes the next political dynasty remains to be seen, but if it does, expect a complete and total meltdown by the Democrat Party.
