Usually, the mainstream media has a script to stick to during their on air programming. But now, one of these outlets went off the cuff.

As ABC News just made one insane claim live on air about the Trump assassination attempt.

Former President Donald Trump’s near assassination attempt has left Americans with a lot of questions.

Some are wondering what the motive of the shooter was. Others are wondering how the Secret Service was so incompetent in letting this incident happen.

And many are wondering if the shooter was acting alone or not.

But one mainstream media outlet just made a claim that could answer that last question.

ABC News Implies Government Had Role In Trump Assassination Attempt

ABC News correspondent Pierre Thomas became a top trending topic on X Wednesday afternoon following a televised report in which he seemed to state that “the government tried to k*ll” former President Donald Trump.

This remark was made during a discussion about a recent assassination attempt at Trump’s Pennsylvania rally.

Thomas’s statement occurred while he was presenting newly gathered body camera footage of the shooting, which showed law enforcement officers moving towards the shooter after he was neutralized by a sniper.

“Our audience is about to see the frantic seconds in the moments after the government tried to k*ll former President Trump,” Thomas seemed to say on ABC News’ Good Morning America. “It’s all caught on police bodycam video.”

This coverage coincided with FBI Director Christopher Wray’s testimony before Congress.

Wray revealed that Thomas Matthew Crooks, identified as the shooter, had researched how far Lee Harvey Oswald was from President John F. Kennedy when he assassinated him in 1963. This internet search was done on July 6, the same day of the announcement of Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The moment sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many users questioning what they had heard.

“Listen to ABC News correspondent Pierre Thomas make the Freudian slip of the CENTURY… ‘Our audience is about to see the frantic seconds in the moments after the GOVERNMENT tried to k*ll Former President Trump,’” one user said.

“Listen to this carefully. Chief Justice Correspondent for ABC, Pierre Thomas, just admitted to gunmen (plural – second shooter) or government. I cannot make out…but either way…did he confirm there is a 2nd shooter OR that the Biden government tried to take out Trump?” another user asked.

Adding to the controversy, Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned from her position on Tuesday. Cheatle had faced intense questioning from lawmakers the previous day about how the shooter was able to get within range of the former president.

In response to these security concerns, Trump’s campaign plans to move future rallies to indoor venues, according to sources familiar with the campaign’s operations.

While Trump has traditionally favored outdoor venues, the heightened security risks have prompted this change.
