President Biden will stop at nothing to push his radical agenda. That means even if Americans suffer in the process.
And citizens in this U.S. state are in panic mode after this proposal by the Biden administration.
Florida has recently become a flourishing red state thanks to the policies set forth by Governor Ron DeSantis (R).
But that means it’s a target for members of the Left who want to turn the Sunshine State blue.
That includes President Joe Biden.
Currently, Florida has a block on Medicaid covering gender transition surgeries.
The Biden administration is hoping to change that through the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) and Department of Health and Human Services, have filed a brief to the 11th Circuit to argue that Florida is violating Obamacare and Medicaid laws by prohibiting taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries.
“Florida’s exclusions target transgender people and prevent them, because of their sex assigned at birth, from receiving care available to other Medicaid beneficiaries,” the brief stated.
The Biden admin’s brief also explained that the federal government should “vindicate s*x-based denials of equal protection of the laws.”
This isn’t the first time this ban on taxpayer-funded gender transitions has caused controversy.
Back in June, a Bill Clinton-appointed judge, U.S. District Court Judge Robert Hinkle ruled that Florida violated federal law by not letting Medicaid cover gender transitional care.
Hinkle argued that the equal protection clause in the U.S. Constitution was being violated through the measure.
He also explained that “the record includes no evidence that these treatments have caused substantial adverse clinical results in properly screened and treated patients.”
Florida appealed the ruling and in a brief drafted by the state, they argued that “It’s a health and welfare question; it’s a medical policy issue. It’s an area where the state gets to draw the line between what’s permissible and what isn’t.”
The Biden admin used Hinkle’s June ruling in their brief however, arguing that “Whether a Medicaid beneficiary can access a treatment such as testosterone depends on the patient’s s*x assigned at birth.”
“If the beneficiary is a natal male, the treatment is covered.’ But if the beneficiary ‘is a natal female, the treatment is not covered.'”
It’s bad enough that Joe Biden and his Leftist pals want to push their agenda on Americans.
But it’s even worse when they use taxpayer dollars to do so.
