Donald Trump announces new debate plans that’s left Kamala Harris scared straight

Trump has now shifted his focus on defeating Vice President Harris for the White House. And he’s ready to get started by facing off against her on the debate stage.

As Donald Trump has announced new debate plans that’s left Kamala Harris scared straight.

Former President Donald Trump was set to debate President Joe Biden at least one more time this election cycle.

But now that Biden has dropped out of the race, Trump will likely face Vice President Kamala Harris on the debate stage.

And while some Leftists want to claim that the former president is too scared to debate Harris, Trump has recently come out to claim the opposite.

Trump Poised to Debate Vice President Kamala Harris, Calling It Essential for Presidential Race

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump has stated his firm intention to debate Vice President Kamala Harris, emphasizing the importance of such debates in a presidential race.

“Oh yes, absolutely I’d want to. I think it’s important,” Trump declared during a rare appearance on a conference call with reporters on Tuesday.

Trump’s participation in the call suggests his campaign is adapting to facing Harris instead of President Joe Biden, whom the GOP had viewed as a weaker opponent. Despite this shift, Trump dismissed the notion that debating Harris would pose a new challenge.

“I agreed to a debate with Joe Biden, but I want to debate her,” Trump stated. “She’ll be no different because they have the same policies. I think debating is important for a presidential race. I really do. I think that you sort of have an obligation to debate if you’re the candidate of the Republican Party.”

Trump restated his desire to negotiate new terms for a debate with Harris, a stance that some Democrats have interpreted as a refusal to debate. For example, Stephen King, a notable author, posted on X on Monday that “Trump has announced he won’t debate Kamala Harris.”

In response to King’s inaccurate post on X, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told Newsweek that “Stephen King is a dumba**.”

Trump also indicated his willingness to participate in multiple debates with Harris, though he expressed dissatisfaction with ABC as the host network. “They’re truly fake news,” he said of the network.

“I watched last night. They’re actually trying to make a hero out of Joe Biden when he was the worst president in history, and they were doing things with Kamala like saying what a wonderful thing it is that she’s running. She is not the candidate that they should have. You know it, I know it, we all know it. So I’m not thrilled with ABC.”

Tony Fabrizio, Trump campaign pollster, issued a memo on Tuesday predicting a “Harris honeymoon” that could temporarily impact Trump’s polling figures.

However, Fabrizio noted that the fundamentals of the race remain unchanged and predicted that Harris would ultimately be associated with Biden’s record in the public mind.

Trump later clarified that he hasn’t agreed to any debate terms yet because the conditions he previously agreed to were for a debate with Biden, not Harris. Nevertheless, he emphasized the general importance of debates.

“It’s just a two-party system [in the U.S.], plain and simple, and it was designed that way, and that’s the way it is,” Trump stated. “I think if you’re the Democrat nominee or the Republican nominee, you really have an obligation to debate. So I think it’s very important.”
